A good OC isn't just what they can do or what their story is, it's the progression you've made to make them who they are today.
My OC Nina Shiera has taken years of perfecting to who she is today, heck if you saw what she was like in the first place you'd call her a mary sue xD

In the very begining Nina was the dragon of electric and she had telekinesis, which ment she could build robots with her mind, she was Jacks secret girlfriend who had to sneak out late at night to see one another and..yeeah..oh she also had reeeally bad hair design..it looked like dread locks the way I drew her =[]=...

But over time she's grown to be different, she's gone from that to a cocky girl who's good side wore black clothing (shown with picture 1). She's had red in her hair to be concidered cool and didn't think much of Rai, and she was kinda rude..(picture 2).

Though with picture 3 I didn't change much, and just gave her new cloths and made her alot more nicer and caring, and no lame electric powers, not sure what element I gave her back then..might have been light. Though she looked too..orange with her colour scheme, so yeah..

In the 4th picture Nina was very...well..dim..very blank and she was very clumbsy, and her hair was long and oddly swished in silly directions, but this was due to seeing the hair style on a website called "tektek.org" it was something to create avatars on...but then I discovered the hairstyle was based off of the cartoon character Panty from "Panty and Stocking"..so yeah I trashed that idea xD

And then..5~ Since talking to a good buddy of mine I was able to work on her character alot, giving her a new look and a new feel, I could work on her personality and how she'd act with others, and amazingly discovered the pairing of Nina and G.Jack~! Ever since RPing with Nina has never been better! She's who she is today and I don't think there's a single mary-sueness about her! Which brings her to her final design...6

A good OC depends on work and progression people! Never stop working on that special oc of yours, because one day they'll become something you cherish, like a baby! Always try new things and new ideas to see if you like it or not!

I wouldn't call Nina perfect or maybe even finished, as I always like to think I can make her better ^ ^
