Well you see, back in them days of the early teen's there was a war called "the armed nature war" witch humanity pitted them little creatures against each others armored cars to see wicth one them was the best, i even got a photograph of the winner someware in this damed house.

Haha! I was hired a few years ago to design all the vehicles and race teams for a series which was basically going to be something between wacky races in space and oban star racer. It didn't get made, but the vehicles were coooool

Awww man! I wish that had come to light. Would love to see it! You seen Red Line? It's like an anime wackey races. I'm not a huge anime fan but it's pretty cool.
I'm not too bad. Going through a bit of a struggle with my confidence art-wise though. The small press comics scene seems to be really taking off right now for everyone except me. Which is such a whiney thing to say, but it's how I feel.
I'm just finishing up the latest Ronin Dogs and then I'm gonna do an anthology thing with loads of little stories and stuff. Hoping that'll get me noticed. I'd really like to get involved with the Pheonix but I imagina they must get so many people coming to them with stuff. I'll give it a go though.

Sorry to hear you're having a tough time staying motivated - my advice is to do what I do - not worry about what everyone else is doing, and just concentrate on making work which you love. I think you may find too that the perceived success of others is often blown way out of proportion by your own imagination, but either way, don't sweat it. Your work is awesome!
That sounds like a cool plan! Count me in for one of everything you do!
As for the Phoenix - I think they do get a lot of subs, but I suspect they get a lot of people subbing the same type of thing. Your best bet is to look for a gap in the content - something that no-one else is doing - and present them with an awesome idea.
All I can say is stick at it, bro, this comic lark is a slog, make no mistake, but perseverance and constant self improvement is rewarded in the end!

Yeah, I tend to get in a rutt when I start looking at how other artists are doing, even though I know comparing myself to other artists is just a plain stupid idea. I'm trying to stay off the internet for a bit and focus on just drawing and getting stuff done. Find the fun again!

Yeah, I've always felt like the internet is a double edged sword. It can be great for so many things but it can also be really distracting and overwhelming. It's a world that's easy to get sucked into, but hard to get away from.
