Why the dog, you may ask? A legend from the Middle Ages tells us that mandrake's screams can drive people mad, even kill them. To collect it safely, it was recommended to plug your ears with wax, tie a dog to the plant and attract him away. The dog would then pull the plant out of the ground and die instead of the human. The dog, man's best friend ^^’ and why a greyhound, you may ask? Because they're fricking adorable.
