Description Steve Stark stood in the front doorway, staring down at little Wade Wilson, the 7 year old that seemed to have become best friends with Steve and Tony's  6 year old son, Peter. Wade peered up at him, his seemingly innocent, bright blue eyes sparkling in excitement.

"Can Peter come out to play?" he asked as usual; the boy seemed to have nothing else to do- every day it was the same thing over and over. "Or can I come in to play with Peter?"

Steve gave the child an apologetic look. "I'm really sorry, Wade, but Peter isn't feeling very well. I don't think he can come out to play today."

Wade suddenly froze, eyes widening and mouth falling open. "Wait, Petey's sick?" he exclaimed, shoving past Steve and racing up the stairs. "I'm coming, Peter!" he cried the entire way up. Steve let out a sigh, rubbing his face as he shut the door and jogged after him. Wade slammed open Peter's bedroom door, startling Tony who was setting down a fresh cup of water on the nightstand.

"What the-"

"Peter, I came as soon as I heard! Are you okay, my little spider?" Wade asked worriedly, ignoring Tony and leaping onto Peter's bed to lean beside his friend, grasping his hand. Peter gave Wade a small smile, looking pleased to see his friend, but eyes tired and nose red.

"It's okay, Wade. Daddy says I gots a fever, is all," he snuffled, his voice sounding cute and nasally due to his stuffed nose. Tony let out an annoyed huff, placing his hands on his hips and glaring at the boy sitting beside his son. Steve entered a second later, blinking and peering at his husband, smiling.

"It looks like Peter's got a loyal friend, here."

"How about a friggin' irritating little nut, here?" Tony muttered, frowning at Steve. The two of them watched as Wade took the cup of water and held it up to Peter's lips, helping him sip it. Steve chuckled.

"Oh, come on. It's cute."

"Well Peter needs some rest, and he isn't going to get any with Wilson here."

Steve sighed, silently agreeing with him. He stepped forward, tapping Wade's shoulder. "Ah, Wilson, again, I'm really sorry, but I'm going to have to ask you to leave."

Wade turned his big blue eyes onto him, looking confused and hurt. "What?" he squeaked. "Why?" Steve smiled sadly.

"Well, you see, Peter needs his rest. And when you're here with him, you're distracting him, which means he isn't getting any rest. And if Peter doesn't get any rest… he won't get better."

Wade stayed quiet for a moment, seeming to think about his choices here. He shook his head after awhile, looking determined.

"Don't you two worry, Mister and Mister Stark! I can take care of Peter while you both go off and save the world, okay?"

Wade grinned, already making the decision for the parents and turning back to his friend, patting his hand soothingly. Tony was about to snap something when Steve placed a hand on his shoulder. He leaned in to whisper in the genius's ear.

"We can just go and have Jarvis keep an eye on them. They'll be fine. C'mon, Tony. Fury has been calling us for hours."

Tony let out a sigh and reluctantly went over to his son. He leaned down, giving him a small kiss on the forehead. "Me and Pops gotta get to work, okay buddy? But Wade here will keep you company, and will get ya whatever you want, alright?"

Peter nodded, smiling sweetly. "I trust Wade with my life, Daddy!" he chirped before letting out a cough. Steve took Tony's hand, kissing Peter's forehead as well.

"We'll be back soon, Peter, we promise. I love you!"

"I love you, too, Poppa!"

And they were gone. Wade grinned, glancing down at his best friend. "Okay, so what do you need me to do?" he asked, looking excited. Peter blinked, tipping his head to the side and thinking.

"I think Daddy wants me to sleep. He said he was gonna give me these little circles for me to eat so I could gets all better."

Wade frowned. "Little circles?" he echoed. "What's that?" Peter shrugged, letting out a fit of coughs. Wade suddenly grew worried. This was a bad idea. He didn't know how to take care of a sick person. He didn't want to make Peter worse! What was he supposed to do?

"Excuse me, sir Wilson?" the AI voice thing spoke up. Wade glanced at the ceiling, looking surprised.

"Yeah?" he asked tentatively. The English voice continued.

"Peter's father was going to give him two pills of his antibiotics. You can find them in the kitchen, on the counter. Take two, and have Peter swallow them one by one with water."

Wade sat there for a moment, dumbstruck. He grinned. "Thanks, computer!" he laughed, hopping off the bed.

"Ah, sir, I am not a computer, I am artificial intell-"

"Yeah, yeah, whatever!" Wade cut him off, waving his hand as he raced down the hall and down the stairs towards the kitchen. When he reached his destination, he paused, glancing around in search of the medicine. He found a small packet, weird thing with pills stuck on the inside, so he grabbed that. Tearing it wouldn't work, so Wade grabbed a knife and tore through it, quickly grabbing the first two. He ran back upstairs and to Peter's side. The sick child was lying with his eyes closed, looking peaceful. Wade stood at his bedside, silent as he watched his friend rest. He didn't want to wake him up. But the computer told him to give Peter his medicine, so he had to. Wade guiltily shook the boy awake. "Peter," he whispered, shaking him lightly. "Petey, wake up."

Peter cracked open his eyes, looking tired as he let out a feeble cough. "What is it, Wade?" he mumbled, squeezing his eyes back shut. Wade grabbed the cup of water.

"I need you to eat these," he instructed. "One by one, okay?" He paused, trying to remember what else. "Oh and don't chew. Swallow them."

Peter nodded, taking the pills and water and obeying Wade's orders. Once the boy had finished, he laid back down on his back, looking exhausted as he could no longer keep his eyes open. Wade leaned against Peter's bed, watching him in silence. They stayed like that for a long time, until Wade finally believed Peter was asleep. The blue eyed boy didn't move. He decided to stay there and watch his friend to make sure he was okay. He liked how Petey looked when asleep, anyway. After awhile, Wilson grew hungry. Maybe he could just go downstairs for a little snack… Peter jerked in his sleep, his hand shooting out and grasping Wade's wrist, his eyes flying open.

"Don't leave me!" he cried, looking terrified. Wade froze, eyes wide as Peter then proceeded to break down and cry. The older boy flailed, rushing forward to calm him down. Wade leaned over the side of the bed, tightening his hold on Peter's hand.

"Shh, shh, Petey, I promise I won't leave. I'll be right here," he soothed, stroking his thumb along Peter's skin. The brown eyed boy let out a whimper, struggling to breathe through his stuffed nose.

"Lay with me," he pleaded. Wade smiled and scooted into the bed, crawling underneath the covers and letting Peter lay his head against his chest. Wilson wrapped his arms around his friend, holding him protectively. "Don't leave," Peter whispered, cheek pressing into the older boy's shirt. Wade kissed the top of Peter's head, nuzzling his forehead against Petey's.

"I'm not going anywhere." Peter cuddled into his friend, his tears finally ceasing as he shut his eyes. Wade's smile wouldn't go away. And he didn't want it to. He shut his eyes. "I promise."

So adorable!
I can relate to this. I remember being sick as a kid and doing the same thing as Peter. I always wanted someone in the room with me(I guess it felt safer) and as soon as they would try to leave I'd bolt up and cry and/or beg them to stay.
