For all their assholery, andalites are still wonderfully fabulous art subjects, haha. Thank you!

I recently went where no Animorph fan has or ever should go. I combined Pink Fluffy Unicorns Dancing On Rainbows and an Andalite.

Oo, this are the aliens from Animorphs, right? It's been years since I read those books, but I remember them fondly.

Yeah! I've got them all as pdfs and read them relatively recently, and I follow a lot of animorphs-ish blogs on tumblr so I stay pretty consistently excited about it haha. I really should draw some more.

Thank you! And no I have not--I never had as clear a picture of Hork-Bajir as I have of Andalites (actually, the mental image I had was wildly inaccurate rofl) so I think I need to reread descriptions about them and see what other people did with them first before attemtping them. But it's a possibility I might pursue in the future.

I actually reread them about a year ago! I guess I say "reread" but my former reading status was a bit patchy (the library didn't have all of them, I think, so I read about the first seven in order, skipped around to all the others depending on what had the neatest animals on the cover, and read the last one or two). I did sit down and read every single one though, Megamorphs and Chronicles included, so. CX Right now Zoe is rereading them so I'm kind of rerereading them vicariously through her commentary, haha.

Man he's so pretty! I love how you did the markings, it's so pretty! Also I like the thinner legs personally, it's more graceful and they would move faster.
I hope to see more from you!

Thank you! I really like okapi markings even if it's not quite canon, I might have to play around with a bunch of other ungulate patterns and stuff on them just to see what they end up looking like. I agree that thin legs look really nice and graceful, but while looking at this I realized that there is a ton of weight and stress that would go onto those thin little legs, especially in the front half of the body during running or jumping. So I think thin is good, but I went a little too thin here for comfort.
I'll def have to play with these guys some more, they kind of sneakily make me practice human anatomy while satisfying my recent need to draw hoofed critters, haha.

Well canon or not, they are pretty awesome! Also I see what you mean, with the bigger front body the skinny front legs would probably not take the weight. I base my Andalites off the Generuk, which has little tiny skinny legs and a fat little body. [link] The added weight of the upper body probably wouldn't work out with those legs, but I like it so whatever >.>;
Yay Andalites everywhere!

I saw that you used generuks as reference! I thought it was really neat and it was definitely a part of why I wanted to have skinny-legged andalites in the first place, haha. I might still want to do skinny legs (I don't like making them as thick as some of the ones I see on the covers with like...clydesdale horse legs), just maybe not quiteee as skinny as I have them here XD

Oh yeah, I know XD My main reason for not is that I've been occupied with drawing and stuff a lot lately, and regardless of how long the books are 70~ish books is a lot to reread and is kind of time-consuming, especially since I just reread them a year ago.

I wish I was occupied with drawing!
School instead is stupid x3
Last time I reread them was 3 years ago, but it was mostly skim. It was my favourite childhood book. So powerful too
