Description Finished my version of a Batarian Cruiser from the Mass Effect Universe.

Class Kes'heel
Type: Cruiser
Length: 661 m
Crew: 400

For the last couple of decades, the Batarian Hegemony has been conspiciously quiet. The reason is that as it has been disguising its ailing economy and its inadequate military and they have been building their naval assets with a renewed fervor. Not longer bound to the Treaty of Farixen, the Batarians renew lots of their ships, including Cruisers and Dreadnoughts.
The Kes'heel class is the successor of the older Hensa class cruiser. Most of the Hensa class ships were exploited or sold twenty years ago, and since then, the Kes'heel represents the new backbone of the fleet.

Designed by the Hegemony, the Kes'heel was built to be one of their newer models of heavy cruisers for long-term missions, whether it be spec-op behind enemy line missions or just border patrols. With it's weapons consisting of four heavy MAC's (Mass Accelerator Canons), several GARDIAN systems, and three Javelin torpedo tubes, the Kes'heel's armament is pretty impressive.

It's speed is also pretty impressive, though due to the heavy armor and weapons it has, it's maneuverability suffers a lot. Rapid evasive maneuvers are virtually impossible.

The Kes'heel also has room for small shuttles and fighters in it. A squadron of six Interceptors, two Bombers and four Dropshuttles makes this ship good for planetary assaults.

The Kes'heel also possesses optical camouflage as well as a stealth system. The system does not use internal emission sinks or a particular drive core. Instead upon activating its optical camouflage the computer switches off main power and disengages a number of systems to decrease power usage and heat buildup including main engines and active sensors.

Sounds like a formidable ship. Kinda goes against how the Batarian military was quickly defeated though. On the other hand the Batarian command structure was badly indoctrinated...

Yes, you mentioned it. Some of the Batarian military was indoctrinated and they had faced the whole armada of reaper ships when they coming from the orcus nebula. They never stood a chance, even with its newer ships.

Still looks like a predator shark.  Looks mean and evil.  Witch means it is cool.

Nice and the ability of Batarian cruisers to run silent could explain why they keep managing to slip past Human and Turian patrols to mount slaving raids on colonies.

Yep, thats the idea behind. In the past, they had clashes with the Asari and the Salarians, two species with a advanced technology, or intelligence. They even raided their colonies. Somehow they must have done it. To run silent is the best explanation.

So, Batarian cruisers can run silent? Good I always convince Balak to ally himself with us.

Normally I would too, but I figured he would be useful later, as I already knew that ME3 was all about total war against reapers. If it was an option I would even dubble the defence budget of the Alliance at cost of... Hum... Something not needed in a war.
