Description
Star Trek "First Contact" Phaser Rifle Prop as seen in the Next Generation Movies, Deep Space Nine and Voyager. This is the Typ 3a, the one with the black barrel.
I built it out of wood (simply pressboard wood) with some plastic parts for the details. Construction time was around one and a half week with nearly 2 or 3 hours a day. Beside the cutting part with a jigsaw all is handwork without any machine. I use mostly file and grater, and filler for sealing the pressboard surface.
Painting was a two days work. I use mostly spraypaints for cars.
Full rifle prop is a bit more than 90 cm in lenght.
