On this page, Konan and Itachi are still discussing about Fumiyo... Itachi says a little revelation about her, but, as can be seen in the last panel, is reluctant to confirm the alleged 'relationship'.

  Why does Konan seem so concerned at the thought of a (past) 'romantic affair' between Itachi and Fumiyo?
Isn't the discovery of the relationship itself that worries her, but the probable sexual violence that Itachi allegedly inflicted on Fumiyo. Konan was a roommate of the young Uchiha for three years and she was able to know him day by day although for a year Itachi didn't speak to her, more for defense than for real disinterest (Itachi was terrified of being betrayed by yet another person to whom he had trusted. After Madara's betrayal, he lost trust in people). Konan has understood that, while posing as an impassive person and with a cold temper, Itachi actually hide a kind, benevolent and understanding temper. Also, knowing that Itachi is heterosexual and that he had a girlfriend in the past, Konan had noticed that for Itachi it was incomprehensible the concept of raping a girl to have her with him or to show her to be the male to whom the woman had to be submissive to him.
In short, Konan considers the actions revealed by Fumiyo to be unlikely, but the recently lift up wall by Itachi makes her suspicious. Who is right between Itachi and Fumiyo?
