Whatever settings I utilize are typically planned but how my "models" behave isn't (I'm a terrible director and I instead usually watch as they hopefully interact with others). This shot, though, was meticulously prepared, from his pose to waiting for a particular cloudscape and for the Sun to position itself closer to the horizon.

Both, sort of. I've shied away from HDR -- I don't like manipulations over which I've little control -- but did shoot two exposures (+/- 2 stops or so), the faster of which is represented by its background (clouds, etc.). I slightly increased the saturation of the resultant image, too.

these colours of the grass and shapes of the clouds are so dreamy!.. I find that Jack Johnson's lyrics fit perfectly to this picture..
