Thank you! Man, that water was... a lot easier to conceive than to manipulate, lol

Hey, this is amazing! Came across your post in the thumbshare. I love the water here and the soft detail of the hands. Great job!

this picture reminds me a lot of The Mars VoltaΒ΄s artwork.
(The Mars Volta is a rock band, look for their albumΒ΄s artwork De-loused in the Comatorium there is a b&w drawing that looks almost exactly like this)

Thank you for your kind words, and for the fave... I'm just trying to do something, anything, to combat this feeling of overwhelming powerlessness in the face of such a monstrous disaster. These poor people, millions of them, will need help for years to come.

A very nice thought, indeed, but I don't really think it is a feasible idea...aside from all the bookkeeping, etc., that would have to be done, in my opinion it isn't something feasible.
I think one reason that jark wrote a front page news article, and his own journal article, on the relief efforts, shows that, because he gave links to charitable organizations for deviants to donate to.

The brilliance of this piece goes far beyond just the composition, which in of itself is very well thought out and beautifully put together; it strives to reach out for hope and compassion and encourages people to help make a difference. It is definitely very moving, well done!

I visited your gallery before, but it's just now I realized what this piece was. This is extremely well done. I especially like the off-balance world and the light shining through. The glow does a lot to emphasize the hope of the helping hand. Very good way raise awareness, in fact I think it's quite refreshing to see something like this instead of those horrible film clips of people drowning and houses being destroyed that do more to guilt and scare people into giving rather than encouraging them to give simply because it's the right thing to do (if that makes any sense). Anywho, great manip.

You could probably donate to a better organization than the Red Cross, because I don't really like my experiences with them... But I admire your humanitarian relief attempt.
My only problem with your deviation is the "water" around the top hand and arm. You may want to remove it and perhaps edit in water drops flying upward in a ballistic curve so that it looks a bit more as if the hand had reached into the water and grabbed someone out of it.
Great job regardless!
