Description A request that fortunately turned out not to have any of those messy problems which keyblades tend to....

Specifically, I got this from a high-resolution (cutscene) model of Axel ripped out of Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix.

As for how to properly size this papercraft.... Compared to the model of Axel that it was a part of, when you hold this weapon in the center, the tips of the longest spikes should come up even with your elbow. Hold a yardstick or meterstick against your forearm if precision really matters to you and you want to be 100% sure before you print it out.

Enjoy!

(I really need to do a drawing of myself tucking motivation under my arm like a football and running for my life........that describes how I work only too well.)

Hi, which paper do you use? I'm searching for a good paper and i can't figure out which one is the best to build papercraft models. Glossy? Matte? Textured? Photo paper?Β
Could you give me a little help? >.<Β
(Sorry for my english, my native language is portuguese)
Thank you!

I think it's awesome that you're able to make and organize these from 3D models to foldable flat paper... but i think you should check out the handle on this one. It's on the 4th page... it gets a bit... tricky.

If anyone's gotten past the handle, could you tell me how you did it? because the template looks a bit impossible, or is it just me? ^_^'

You have to make unmarked cuts with this one, unfortunately. It's possible, but messy.

Should only be the tabs, which really don't need to be perfect. If it bothers you anyway, you can just load the PDO into Pepakura Designer and tweak the arrangement yourself. I was just trying to use fewer sheets of paper.

The Circles are inside of each other

The Spikes are in the Big circle

in total there are 19 things inside of each other

I actually began creating your model
but it got messed up a bit sofar because of the holes i had to cut in so it were inside each other^^
it will be done in some days

Oh, I see what you mean. Unfortunately, I don't know how to fix that. When I build models like this I just cut it same as you. Frustrating, but better than no template at all.

Sorry for taking so long. I have had difficulty translating your message.

I will papercraft some more Organization weapons.

Are you asking for a tutorial about how to make templates?

I guess I have no excuse for not making Axel's chakrams now XD I guess you got the full version of Pepekura, huh? I tried to do a papercraft of this once... But I couldn't get it to unfold right. I stand in awe of your skills.

EuTytoAlba In reply to GriffinHuntress [2012-08-25 00:41:11 +0000 UTC]

Hee~ thanks. But it really isn't hard once you get the hang of it. What was it doing?

Yeah, a friend gave it to me.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

GriffinHuntress In reply to EuTytoAlba [2012-08-25 13:34:17 +0000 UTC]

It unfolded into hundreds of little pieces, and the textures wouldn't export and/or load. I think the pieces had something to do with the model I used, but the textures have never worked for any of my attempts.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

EuTytoAlba In reply to GriffinHuntress [2012-08-25 23:55:13 +0000 UTC]

Hmm, I'm still not sure what you were/weren't doing.....and pretty sure Pepakura isn't glitchy... Were you applying the texture in "Texture Settings"? It doesn't load automatically... As for the little pieces, the problem could be two things... One----you have to use the Divide/Connect tool to put them together yourself. (Why it is worthwhile to give/take credit for tamplates; it's actually a lot of work.) Or (if you already knew that) if the model on the left display is covered all over in red lines (unjoinable edges), then you will have to load the model into MeshLab and export it again as a new file, and then load the new file into Pepakura; that will fix most, but not quite all.

Does that help?

GriffinHuntress In reply to EuTytoAlba [2012-08-27 16:25:24 +0000 UTC]

Oh, you do most of the joining in pepakura? Okay... I'll have remember that...
I usually use Google sketchup, since it's the software I'm most familiar with, but since it was updated, it's become nearly impossible to use sketchup for papercraft making, so that stalled any more attempts to learn.
I think I did try the texture, but it wouldn't show up. Maybe it has something to do with sketchup...?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

EuTytoAlba In reply to GriffinHuntress [2012-08-30 04:36:19 +0000 UTC]

SketchUp is not a program that I've tried much with.... I didn't even know it can unfold models.

I can't get MeshLab to display textures, either. But after I edit a model, the texture still works in Pepakura. As long as the model still has its UV map, there's no reason it shouldn't...

In my most recent Journal post are a ton of links to other freeware 3D studios if you want to experiment with different ones....

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

GriffinHuntress In reply to EuTytoAlba [2012-08-31 22:39:57 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, you used to be able to export models for pepakura, but they updated sketchup and now it doesn't work in pepakura unless you do some sort of complicated... thing.

Well, I'll definitely have to look at it. I want to learn some other 3D software, and it's always nice when it's free.

Thanks for helping!

Extremely.

I know there are ways to make dummies with tape, but it would be cool to have a papercraft for an armor stand, and maybe a weapon rack...

ive done the method of using tape to make one it works but i did it a tad too tight,
but it does work, although i do need to fill mine with expanding foam, and i have a
friend here who uses metal pip clips to hold weapons like swords but his are metal
