Reimu's just too hot-headed, shoots first and doesn't notice the business opportunities all around her! You snooze you lose! Sanae always seems to kinda pause and try to relate to the characters she meets, which i find cute. Even Marisa is a bit nicer than Reimu...

Sanae IS a good girl, I really like her interaction with other characters. Reimu is mean. :C She should just let Sanae be the new main character.

She's just so full of wonder and openness to new experiences. It's nice break from Reimu's jaded bitchiness.
You can notice in some of this game dialogue, she speaks somewhat apologetically like she'd rather avoid a fight, and tries to be polite... like when she mirrors Futo's manner of speech, that's really sensitive of her actually. Mirroring gestures and speech styles instinctively puts the other person at ease, and it takes someone sensitive and observant to do that.
Kanako is lucky to have her doing PR for the shrine.

she is a jiangshi, they say kyonshi in Japanese- But Jiangshi are already dead so they are like what we think of as zombies, and the word 'zombie' is used in the game dialogue as well as kyonshi.
