my first almost finished na'vi drawing
I'm uploading this for ~Cursed-Painter to show her how I draw and color. Hopefully it'll be able to help someone
I'm not a master at this or anything, but I hope it could be useful to at least one person.It's a drawing I'm doing for *KitKatKoi 's birthday of her character Arae'em. I'm going to (try to) add a background, so it's not done yet. I'll move this to scraps once it is
1. Sketch
2. Sketchy fail at lineart
3. Base skin tone
4. Add in some shadows
5. Add highlights
6. Add more dramatic shadow and highlights
7. Erase outside of the lines
8. Base hair color
9. Add shadows and highlights to hair
10. Erase outside of the lines, color ear and feathers
11. Add stripes and bioluminescence (this part was such a pain >< )
12. Finish facial features and color jewelry

I used to too XD what makes a huuuge difference in how your coloring looks is making shadows more dramatic. I used to just leave them as I did in step number 4, but you can see how much better it looks later when I add darker ones. Don't be scared to be dramatic

isn't it pretty late for you? o.o though I'm guessing you don't have school on Saturdays? I know in Japan they sometimes do, which would suck

xDD It wasn't that late. It must have been between 12 - 1 when I wrote this.
Fortunately we don't have school on Saturdays.
Lucky you. xD But I had "holidays" until Wednesday, so I had only 2 days of school. Didn't help me much.
At least I was not the only one who had this problem. Many of my classmates didn't sleep more than 2 hours on Thursday. That explains why most of them didn't come to school then. xDD
My French teacher came in the next day, looked at us and asked: "When do you go out to party?"
And everyone yawned: "Yesterday."
This got longer than I expected...

I guess that's not that late for a Friday night XD I went to bed at like 1 last night too. I can't imagine having to go to school on Saturday even just for a project
What kind of party was it? I don't think my school ever would have let us have a party in front of the school that late. Although prom went until like 6 in the morning last year -_- which was ridiculous.

xD The 13 graders have such a party every year after they're done with the finals.
We mainly stand in front of the court, listen to music and drink alcohol. xDD
(You're not allowed to drink in school or in the court, so standing in front of it is the best option.)

Haha, sounds fairly fun XD I forgot that you probably don't really have a drinking age, right? We have to wait until we're 21 to drink, so if you're caught drinking while in high school you get in big trouble and can't do sports and sometimes can't 'walk' when they graduate (meaning they get their diploma, but they don't get to walk across the stage and get it). So we'd never be able to have a party like that remotely close to the school XD
No one was very happy about the six in the morning thing -_- The previous year, it had gone til 4, and that was still really really late. The only reason we stayed that year was because they had a cool hypnotist show at the end. They had one this year too, but I couldn't stay up that long

We have to wait until we're 18. Except for beer and wine, which were allowed at 16. I guess they changed it meanwhile. I didn't pay much attention, because I was already 18. xDD
It's hard for me to imagine having parties without alcohol, since everyone here is used to it. But therefore you get your driving license with 16, right?
Here you can start to take lessons at 16, but only get it when you're 17. Then you have one year, where you're not allowed to drive alone. -.-
I probably told you this already.
A hypnotist show sounds really cool, although I wouldn't want to participate in it. xD

We have to wait to drink until we're 21, which I think is stupid. I don't drink, but pretty much every other teenager I know drinks whether or not they're old enough. If they lowered the drinking age, then no one would care about drinking as much.

Yeah...my sister is 14 and studying to get her driving permit. I'm very scared. I think it's too young, but they're with an adult, so I guess it isn't too bad. What I'm worried about is when my sister can drive on her own. She is attached to her phone and she's the type of person that is going to be texting while driving -_-
It was a few years ago, so it's hard to remember...but I know the hypnotist had some of the guys think they were in a beauty pageant and then they got into a fight over the 'crown', and they did the most ridiculous dances. I was looking for pictures of it, but apparently I didn't really take any

xDD I would be scared as well. My sister turns 13 in 10 days. I can't imagine her driving at 14, it would be a complete mess. xDD
xD Sounds funny. In class 10 the guys in my class did a "freestyle-catwalk-show". Voluntarily. xDDD
