This piece is alarmingly profound. I am an enormous fan of Clive Barker, he is my favorite author and many of my favorite films are based on his stories...I am sure you have seen his art, I am quite attracted to it. Your gallery reminds me of his work, both literary and painting wise. Hope you don't mind pocketing another fan, I really enjoy your work...

really great work, from reading a lot of his work I always that that this particular movie was based from elements for the Art trilogy(yet to be finished to my knowledge). It spoke of many similar concepts. perhaps there is still a chance for this to arise.

It was for the movie and it was filmed. It was wrapped around Linnea Quigley...but like so often things do not go as planned.

Wow Evan, man every-time I go to your site I find something that absolutely makes my jaw drop. I love that movie as well! But what initially drew me in was the sculpture. This piece is so visceral. Thats what made me like this film long before the Saw (1-1???)series or Hostel and "Hostelesque" type of movies. Not to underrate those films but I mean people act as if these things are new concepts. You never cease to amaze.

Did you ever get a chance to meet Clive Barker? I think Lord ofIllusions was a really neat film; albeit kind of unnerving.

I've been really curious about him after I've been reading his A-Z of horror book I picked up for five bucks a couple years back. I bet having a guy like that look your stuff over was pretty intense, no?

Indeed, but I'd be prodding the jellyfish with a stick, because I might get stung. Then again, would I have got stung by the..er....hmm. I don't know what exactly I'd call it.
Would I have got stung by your creation?

Lord of Illusions is one of my favorites!
I really love the sinew and the almost floral suggestions.
It really makes it more disturbing.
I cant help but think of the fun chill I got when I saw the "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" remake in the 80's; the idea of space-spores creating mimics was so creepy.
This sculpture gives me that feeling all over again - like its coagulating and forming itself into a person.
Fun and eerie.

I liked it too...it is kind of the forgotten Clive Barker movie. This sculpture was based off a painting that Clive Barker did, inspired from a dream he had. He would keep what he called a "dream journal" next to his bed. I remember when I was sculpting this he came into the shop to see how the stuff was coming along. He really love my rendering of it (shook my hand) said he thought it was excellent. I did not realize what a big deal that was until way later on - probably due to nerves! He made some drawing trying to explain something - which I later kept.

What an experience!
He's gifted and dare I say; a trendsetter thats often imitated, never duplicated.
Lord of Illusions is really a great film for a lot of different reasons.
Theres an underlying story in it that really is very classic and very strong.
One of my favorite quotes that I use in life often is from that movie:
"..flesh is a trap, but magic sets us free."
So, so cool you got to not only meet him, but obviously connect with him through this rendering.
