On the morning of August 8, 1987, we're on Conrail's Chicago Line outside of Elkhart IN to catch trains in action. Soon, we catch 2 trains, Conrail Manifest Freight ELUB from Elkhart IN to Frontier Yard in Buffalo NY & Amtrak Train #40, The Westbound Broadway Limited, from New York City NY to Chicago IL. The train was running an hour late & is making up for lost time behind 2 F40PH's while racing pass the Manifest. The power on the manifest is 2 SD40-2's, 1 SD60, & 1 C30-7A leading the heavy train.evangaines 2023
