Description On the morning of March 28, 1992, we're on Norfolk Southern's former Alabama Great Southern District or AGS to chase the Queen of Steam herself, N&W Class J #611 on a 2 day excursion from Birmingham AL to Chattanooga TN & back over the AGS. Soon, we caught the Steam Queen racing along with her 20 car train in tow at 40 mph heading for Chattanooga. The locomotive is using the Auxiliary tender that was used on N&W's Class A's like 1218, which was in the shop at this time, & Class Y's on heavy Coal Drags & Fast Freights in revenue service. The Tool Car is N&W #9647 which was a former CN Baggage Car. Just past our cameras, the J would pass a Birmingham Bound Triple Crown Roadrailer train led by an Ex-Southern High Hood GP38-2. The train would arrive in Chattanooga, that afternoon, where the 611 would be serviced & the train turned around for the return trip to Birmingham.
