Description
On the same day, PRR's Chicago Bound Trailer Jet Truck Train speeds pass the [then] operational signal tower at Montvale. The power on this consist of F89F TTX Flatcars bound for the Windy City is 3 GP30's painted in the black paint scheme with the Keystone logo on the nose. Around the same time, the Pennsy was taking delivery of their [then] new SD45 Diesels from EMD. The signal tower would close in 1981 due to colored signals arriving in the area. It would then be restored as a train watching location & platform for railfans & the locals. The station would also be restored as an area visitors center, which remained open to this day.
