I hope you're not afraid when there are MANY eyes.

Ezekiel's Prophecy, Chapter 1, verses 5 through 24. that source of information I had to use to figure out what the angels of the Old Testament looked like.
The hierarchy there is actually much cooler than just angels, archangels, and cherubim and seraphim, there's a whole army.

This angel is very cool. This is Cherub, one of the first angels created, flying over the expanse of water in darkness, as early as the third day of creation (well, as the Bible and the Old Testament say). Serving God personally. It was this angel who carried Jesus Christ to heaven when he rose from the dead. How cool is that.
It was not easy to understand the prophecy, and considering the fact that it has been translated into so many different languages countless times, the original meaning can be considered lost, so I have taken the liberty of interpreting this image.

In my vision it is a being exuding white light, with four faces, as indicated in the prophecy. The eyes, with which the wings are dotted, and the body of the Cherub, may be "Not Eyes at all." I'm also not quite sure if their wings are covered with feathers... But whatever, let them be eyes, and feathers. Theories about what they are, let's put them aside. I would depict both the creature's metal legs, with hoofed feet, and arms covered with wings, but it would be problematic to fit them in that perspective, perhaps. Let it be without arms and legs for now.

When the art was halfway done, I found out that the "wheels" next to the cherubs were not just any thing, but another angel, a Throne. The Throne, this is the angel on which the "chariot" of the Lord "Merkava" moves. it seems that their purpose is purely utilitarian. From the description, these angels are like "rings of fire, covered with eyes, with an Eye in the middle"... Yes.
My Throne is not consumed by fire. Perhaps not yet.
Thrones are also some of the highest angelic ranks, and are used to transport Cherubim and Seraphim to spheres of angels of a lower rank. apparently this process is something special. god works in mysterious ways.

It was one of the longest art I've ever done, but I'm satisfied. What a great way to get yourself up to speed drawing the Eyes. Huh.
