Yeah I went to see the film with attitude "I hope it doesn't totally suck like a lot of remakes nowadays" and I was totally blown away in about first ten minutes. The visual fireworks and massive amount of details pretty much made the "plot" (actually a one long u-turn lasting for the duration of a movie) a secondary matter. After seeing the Doof Wagon for the first time I was so disoriented that any more complexity to the plot would have made it seem a David Lynchesque art film for me
