Assuming they do become meetable in WDW, I only have one question to ask them. Namely, why did they support Gaston's plan to blackmail Belle into marrying her by incarcerating her father into an asylum under false pretenses, especially when it conflicted with their (likely) Christian moral code, and besides which, they have absolutely no benefit at all if Gaston succeeded (especially when they effectively cried in "the perfect storm" during the "wedding")?! That's a perfect question to ask them.

Generally speaking, in the movie Gaston is an arrogant, selfish, rude, conceited, and male-chauvinist individual that views women not as equal beings with complementary marital duties (as God intended) but instead views women as one of a man's possessions, especially and specifically as a wife (after marriage, women were viewed and treated as a man's property during the time period of the film, with marriage seen as an act of ownership (comparable to a man buying livestock and a house during the same era ) rather than an act of professing love, commitment and companionship like today). He believes that God created women to serve and obey men in all things - especially cooking, cleaning, taking care of children and overall total obedience to her husband, with no thinking whatsoever.[2] It is this sexist viewpoint that drives him away from Belle (the woman he wishes to marry), who looks at him as brainless and boorish as a result, while every other woman in the village (especially Claudia and her sisters ) doesn't seem to notice or care. All of these views against women as equal human beings are what we would now consider to be outdated and of the so-called "caveman" mentality. This is strongly implied in the musical version (when he says to the Silly Girls that their "rendezvouses" will continue after his marriage to Belle, implying adultery). This shows that Gaston is a noncommittal, lecherous man that views all women, even and especially wives, as chattel and not as human beings. Had Gaston actually succeeded in marrying Belle, he would control and abuse her, as well as isolate her from her father (in real life, Gaston would have had to get Maurice's explicit permission to marry his daughter, as a daughter was a father's property first). Additionally, the changing of surnames after marriage (for a woman) further showed that she became nothing more than a man's property rather than as a life partner for him, as women were (in most cultures and for a very long time) not considered to be even human and worthy of equal treatment and respect in marriage, as aforementioned.

Aren't you Angie Y. from Disney Wiki by any chance?

Either way, I have a bit more trust in them than I would Belle right now, anyways, largely because they actually would prove to be loyal to males and Christianity (ie, they won't try to bash males or make anti-Christian statements designed specifically to crush the Church. I've had very bad experiences with this during my time in College and to some extent in Public School. I'll even supply proof of my experiences if you're interested). Belle's personality mirrored some of my bad teachers far too much for comfort (before Spring 2011, I actually had sympathy for Belle, but that's pretty much dead now, thanks to the likes of Heather Lucas, Matt Dolloff, Richard Palmer, and others, two of them even being part of the English department (actually, the English department is pretty much owned by people like them, unfortunately).), and besides which, throughout history there have been some so-called "intellectuals" that, like Belle, were extremely literate and well-educated, yet pushed a lot of anti-Christian, leftist ideologies that caused far too much suffering for many of us and others, many also being absolute monsters themselves. Take Jean-Jacques Rousseau, for example: The guy is one of our most well respected philosophers of the Enlightenment, and even considered the father of early childhood education. Yet... he started the bloodbath known as the French Revolution which featured a lot of horrific acts against various people (the guillotine was just the tip of the iceberg, and ironically the most humane death that could be offered, as the other deaths were worse: burning people in ovens; impaling babies on bayonets; cutting up pregnant ladies and leaving them to bleed out; tying two people to a log and then throwing them up the river [that's called "Republican Marriages" and they definitely aren't "holy matrimonies" or "matrimonies" at all.]), and besides which, he abandoned his own five children to an orphanage, which back then had the same chances of survival as a fruit fly living for a year (fruit flies live for a week at most, so you can pretty much guess what I'm hinting at). Based on Belle's overall views, she's probably firmly in the Rousseau lot. I wouldn't even be surprised if she ended up backstabbing Adam and going for the Jacobin Club and committing several atrocities during the Revolution and the Reign of Terror. That's not even getting into the messes Karl Marx and Jean-Paul Sartre caused, among other intelligentsia/educated people. I don't even like Gaston due to his despicable acts, yet I'm forced to agree with him that thinking is indeed a dangerous pastime, considering how many Christians, heck, our Jewish brethren as well, were targeted and massacred by "thinkers," not to mention having a lot of lies being spread about us (such as how we apparently were the "inventors" of Misogyny via the Original Sin doctrine, this despite the Greeks and Romans practicing it long before us and in an even worse manner).

Admittedly, Belle being the only person in the village who is literate seems to be somewhat unrealistic. Had she been the only one other than the bookkeeper to be literate, I'm extremely doubtful that bookshop would have remained in business for long (as it requires more than simply one customer to keep a business operational. Otherwise, they have to file for bankruptcy. Basic economics, after all.). Plus, the entire village, not just Gaston, seemed to view Belle as an outcast specifically because of her reading (as shown in the lyrics of the opening song), and the main problem with that is 1. a bookstore exists, meaning there were definitely people besides Belle who could read, and 2. since the village is implied with both the Mob Song and the "wedding" to be Christians, Catholics most likely, they'd also have read the bible (and since the film is implied by the creators to take place during the late 1700s, they probably would have at least one Bible on hand for each family), if not at their houses, then at the very least while going to church. Heck, Marie Antoinette was pretty literate (being a fan of Rousseau's works, which ironically Rousseau's works also got her killed by the Jacobins), and no one seemed to mock her for that.

Thought so, as your speech pattern was similar to her.

BTW, a bit of a question: There's a tumblr account called Trois Jolies Filles, apparently an RPA (Role-Playing Account). They had an ask option, and I mainly asked that question to them. However, they or whoever was running it hasn't responded, and they haven't responded to a PM I sent them reminding them, either. The RPA hasn't had any new posts since at least July 2012, so I'm not sure what to make of it. Here's the account: trois-jolies-filles.tumblr.com… If you know anything about what's going on, if its still active, or anything about it, please let me know.
