Description A vintage paper curtain backdrop like you would see in old Toy Theaters (Paper Theaters) from Victorian times.
I could not resist playing around with colorizing it a bit and this is one of the variations I came up with.

UPDATE 08/10/12 - I just found out this curtain is not from a toy theater but it is a vintage (late 1800's) painted curtain in a real theater - The Palais Garnier (an Opera House in Paris) and it's amazing!

It seems the Palais Garnier in Paris used your backdrop too as their main stage curtain. [link]

Thanks YoghurtLife - What fun! - I received the original image I stared with years ago and was told it was a painted theater curtain - I assumed it was from a toy theater; since I collect those as you can see from the other curtains I have posted.
My original guess on the partial image that I had, was that it had been cropped due to damage on the edges or something but now I find it's a vintage (late 1800's) painted curtain in a Paris Opera House and there is more of it than the image I had - Awesome!

I love the fact that - my altered image - is actually part of a real vintage stage curtain and to see the whole thing, WOW! it's amazing!
Imagine that curtain was painted in the late 1800's and still looks stunning today.
I've just updated all of "my versions" of this original beauty so others can see the full image in all it's glory and where it came from.

Thanks again for the info.
