June. Heavy, vibrating air leads me to the edge of the oak forest in search of freshness. I step between the trees, stroking the bark with my fingertips. My fingers become moist and sticky. I have found juicy incision. I stopped, surprised. Could this be true? Did I find him? In plowed soil, I discover his traces. He raises his horned crown in a brave dance, drinking a nourishing juice. He is imperious, mystical and strong. I know where I am now. I came to the area of the King.

In the true, unadulterated sense of the word, that was awesome.
Very well painted. The detail is excellent, and the hard, crisp strokes and stippling without a lot of gradients reinforce the air of harsh, martial majesty. A fine shot as well, not only well balanced but very atmospheric - the pine cones are a great touch. However - though maybe this is beside the point since it is criticism of the shot rather than the painting - it is a bit distracting that some objects out of focus are difficult to identify. Are those scattered coffee beans, amethysts, or unripe juniper berries?
All in all, absolutely outstanding work. I'd probably be too afraid of dropping it to ever drink from it, though.

Most welcome, and thank you in turn for sharing. Sorry if it sounded a bit downbeat on the details - I don't know much about photography, but there are some really great shots on dA of far simpler items in complex environments, so know it is a style that can work wondrously as well. Give some of the jewellery DDs from the past year a look: Remember there was one with moss and cones to accentuate a lathed ring a while back.
