My newest creature, another Asian dragon sea serpent themed! I had SO much fun making the coral horns and eye growths, also webbed toes eee! First of many dragons to come with decorative charm chains sewn onto their bodies in addition to beads.

First off, I must say this is a really fine piece of work and I envy your skills, secondly I must excuse myself for the upcoming wall of text~
I've been considering making my own doll and recently started to collect the various materials that I need for making one. Just a small question. How thick is the steel wire that you use? I want to order from ebay and it's hard getting a straight picture at how thick I'll need by just looking at numbers.
I figured by looking at some of your pictures of this doll that the size I want to work with is about the same.
Gratefully waiting for a reply

Hi there! I'm always happy to answer doll questions, many artists aren't and more power to them but I wasted a lot of time (and materials) I could have used on better projects and i hate to see others go through that gauntlet as well! I went through various jeweler's wire, gardening wire (this stuff has vinyl coating and is totally NOT okay to put in the oven, nasty fumes >P and I finally settled on hanging wire from local hardware stores. It's cheaper and the most durable imo. I tried a few sizes and decided I liked 16 gauge the best, each doll typically has it twined 4 times along the spine/neck/tail and twice for the legs. If it's a doll you plan on having a very heavy head I suggest a few extra twines of the wire on the neck and possibly the feet. [link] of course it's no longer available on their website... but that is the brand and size I get at my local store. hope that helps please don't hesitate to shoot questions at me anytime

I apologize even more for the very late thank you so much! I tried finding a 16 gauge wire and found a lot but none that would ship outside the US decided to try 18 gauge instead since that was available and is currently waiting for more supplies ^^
Once again, thank you!

No problem! If you ever need reliable help having some mailed to you I'm happy to help, however the shipping probably wouldn't make it worthwhile, I'm sure 18 will work just fine!

Thank you! Under the fluff I add the basic head shape is a viper, I adore their little upturned hinged deep mouths!
