Description FFFFFFFFF I need new thinner paint brushes so bad! ;^;

I decided to do a little realism project today, it's been a while.

About his odd eye placement, I heavily referenced [link] and if you compair the two you can see where I messed up, I decreased the length of his skull from eye to ear placement which I attempted to raise a bit. FAIL.

Overall though I'm quite pleased with it, He is colored pencil with a bit of white acrylic paint for bright areas and watercolor paint and salt technique for the background.

This is beautiful. Much better than anything I could've done. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/sā€¦ " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/>

On to the critique...only things I see, is perhaps try adding more fur texture throughout the shorter fur? He just seems a tad...smooth. The upper jaw seems a little smooshed back, should come to a point farther out, and the only other thing I see is the nose break where it leads into the top of the head, it seems a far back, remember that it should be closer to the eyes.

Honestly, those are the only things I see, otherwise this is an absolutely stunning piece. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/sā€¦ " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/> Keep up the good work. ^-^

Thank you! Maybe the nose issue is what is visually bothering me in addition to the re- placing of the ears. Sometimes it just take a peer to point out something obvious, the beauty of critiques, thank you so much for taking the time!

No problem, dear.
Honestly, I think the ears are in a really good position, probably just looks off because of the position in difference to the original photo, it thickens up the neck.

This is gorgeous! How do you get the colored pencils to look so streamlined? mine always are grainy on the paper. :/ Even with the blender, it doesn't quite live up to my expectations. XD

I love the shading and the mix techniques here! His white chest fur looks amazing with the bit of white paint. 83

I start with the dark shades/shadows and work my way lighter and when i get to the lightest shade (yellow or crayola's "mango" in most cases here) I color over the whole area VERY hard. It's really hard on the wrist but i find it makes this nice smoothness, planning on making a color pencil tutorial soon!

That's probably where I mess up then. Dl I start with the lightest shades then work down toward darker shades. In the past, when I worked with Crayolas, you can actually blend using the white pencil, but alas, that doesn't work with Prismas.

Yeah I love prisma whites and blacks but they put more solid color on the piece than my crayolas, so for blending I use my crayola white and for areas I am attempting to lighten without an eraser I use the prismacolors

lol on the whiskers to me true. but above all nice work, the colors were blended nicely but they seem a little too fuzzy around the neck and ears.
