Description I had sooo much fun with this commission! This is a wolf dragon hybrid, I was given a lot of creative freedom and went by a description and trouble shooting with the commissioner rather than a ref sheet. I love doing bat wings! They are 100% posable and help her grip to things (like tree branches)

OOOoo I think this one might possibly be my faqvourite! I love the natural colour tones and the eyes on him look amazing. The gold looks awesome too! <3

Yeah i really like how it turned out, The gold I added into the design because she said she loved the fabric I used on the wings with previous dragons and I figured gold tied in better with green and blonde than silver would. None of these are colors I typically pick for myself, but I'm happy with how it all came out!

They're a grand old blend. Can't go wrong with a bit of green, brown and gold! Very lovely.

I think it helped I talked her into letting me use my highest quality gray wolf fur that i dyed blonde, it's soo realistic!

It is really nice looking fur. Got some great colours running through it. It even seems to lay realistically. That second to last photo on his hind leg shows it well. Was it better to work with?

Eviecats In reply to supernaturalsarah [2012-02-28 22:51:53 +0000 UTC]

Omg it was a giant pain in the arse to work with! LOL It even has a short frizzy undercoat that sheds like crazy!!! I quickly learned when working with fur that it's better to rip it than cut it if you can bc ripping it doesn't cut any fur fibers but it's not very useful for the actual pattern trimming lol >< Our bed sheets are black bc we have black cats, it had gray and blonde fur ALL OVER THE PLACE when I was working in bed watching my tv shows lol

supernaturalsarah In reply to Eviecats [2012-02-29 00:03:45 +0000 UTC]

Oh lord. That's one reason I probably wouldn't ever bother attempting to make dolls. One because I can't wrap my head around the plushie making part and two because of lose fibers. I don't do well when my nose is tickling and it would drive me nuts! Both of our dogs tend to leave fur about the place and it's enough dealing with that without me making more mess lol.

Loll I know that feeling. My art set up is in the garden shed...and that requires too much effort a lot of the time (I currently have a bag of 'emergency art supplies' kicking around my room because it's too cold/wet to be in the shed at the moment....*cough*notanexcuse*cough*).

Well I find it's a great place to be creative but getting in there is a chore. And it's not massive. I would like somewhere bigger..with more natural light lol. Maybe one day. But I need the space it gives me because I have sooo much art crap kicking about. I wouldn't know what else to do with it.

Right now I have flat tubs that fit under our bed where i store most of my stuff but with a toddler around now I'm going to have to figure something else out... or get some super industrial strength bungee cords as my Fred has suggested ><

Aha not a bad idea...it would be awesome to have an entire room for all that sort of stuff...it does tend to get a little overwhelming. I haven't even been purposefully collecting or anything like that and my pile of stuff is just getting bigger and bigger.

Maybe next I'll have to do a quickie comic about the bubble wrap monster living in my closet (I better finish a couple more PAINTED! pages first though before I get lynched ><)

supernaturalsarah In reply to Eviecats [2012-03-05 18:45:38 +0000 UTC]

Crikey, speaking of bubble wrap you've just reminded me of the bubble wrap monster living in our garage lol. My mum's big into ebay at the moment and the garage is literally jammed with random old crap she's selling, and crates of boxes and packing materials to send it all in. Hoy, these hobbies sure do take up a lot of room...

And yes you better get another page up, or I will be forced to send people .

Eviecats In reply to supernaturalsarah [2012-03-05 20:22:57 +0000 UTC]

Yeah that's just it, I'm trying to ramp up making some thing that actually "sell" and bubble wrap is freakin expensive! So I save every bit that comes in the house, in an attempt to clean it up a bit I now have one large trash bag full of furs and 2 full of packaging supplies lol ><

supernaturalsarah In reply to Eviecats [2012-03-06 21:21:58 +0000 UTC]

Lol yeah every envelope which comes through this house ends up recycled for ebay.

I'm sure if the police raided your house that wouldn't look weird at all lol!

D: I wish our lot were as coupon friendly as you guys seem to be (especially if extreme couponing is anything to go by..). Mum had a coupon for buy one get one free compost yesterday...it was an exciting moment.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Eviecats In reply to supernaturalsarah [2012-03-09 20:00:27 +0000 UTC]

I wouldn't call myself an "extreme couponer" BUT I save about 40% on my shopping trips, bc I tend to stock up on non perishables when they are buy one get one free and then the coupons My brother in law was over last weekend making fun of my 6 boxes of crackers and 12 jars of pasta sauce. >< It's not like I'm a dirty hoarder come on! (not counting my furry closet of course LOL)

That's crazy! See whatever offers happen over here tend to have limits on them. Five per customer usually. My mum would do a little jig of joy if she could save 40% on her shopping trips.

Totally changing the subject here but have you watched being human? Omg I love the UK version, why on earth did we have remake/ruin it over here along with so many other shows/movies? ><

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

supernaturalsarah In reply to Eviecats [2012-03-11 14:54:25 +0000 UTC]

Haha I have actually! The first two series anyways. I missed the start of the third one and the legit BBC website changed from having the whole series online to only having the current episode for a week so I just lost the routine. I'm thinking of picking it back up though, it's a great series. I don't really get why either of our grand countries remake opposite series..especially when it's the same thing with different accents. Yours not that fab a version then?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Eviecats In reply to supernaturalsarah [2012-03-11 21:44:13 +0000 UTC]

Well some things are different, like so far into the first series of the uk version I noted that they look out a ton of filler stuff about the ghost gal, about her discovering how to go outside and to touch objects in the material world, since our seasons are massive compared to uk television I guess they needed to spread it out, so I guess it would be worth watching if you want some more back story Your vampire is WAAAAAY better eye candy though! Ours just looks like a Twilight wanna be ><

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

supernaturalsarah In reply to Eviecats [2012-03-11 23:51:53 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I guess it would have to be more spread out to cover more episodes. Not that that's generally a bad thing, I think sometimes character development can suffer in our UK shows when there are only six to your 13+.

Your vampire played Crashdown in Battlestar Galactica didn't he! (He has that vampire pallor naturally...probably why he got picked..). I have to agree with you on that though, I find 'our' vampire to be prettier too XD

I haven't seen the new battlestar thoguh I've been meaning to, I hear an actress from Deep space nine is in it, yeah I'm a secret trekkie, guilty guilty guilty >< lol

supernaturalsarah In reply to Eviecats [2012-03-12 16:54:23 +0000 UTC]

I would, it's definitely worth a watch. I watched like six episodes and got hooked (find the 'mini series' online somewhere or something, that gives a definite examples of how the series feels). I've never seen Deep space nine...I generally don't follow space based sci fi shows. Although I guess I should. I used to love Farscape and now BSG...maybe I should broaden my horizons.

Eviecats In reply to supernaturalsarah [2012-03-12 18:54:53 +0000 UTC]

Most people say DS9 was the "soap opera" of the star trek series because it's a space station and well, "stationary" so it sort of goes deeper into the characters and less into some new discovery every episode... I loved it but a lot of my male trekkie buddies didn't >< Their loss! lol Oh btw, I posted a photo on my fb last night of everything I hauled out of the closet we were discussing, I decided it was time to address it so I turned on and episode of "hoarders" and attacked! *chuckles*

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

supernaturalsarah In reply to Eviecats [2012-03-15 19:47:24 +0000 UTC]

Haha I just checked the facebook picture! Amazing. Hoarding is about right! I'm exactly the same. I keep random bits of packaging and ribbon and stuff too if it's interesting or has a cool pattern. Entirely believe I will one day be able to use it on or with something...we'll see right.

I never really got into the whole Star Trek thing. My dad used to watch it a lot so I would inevitably end up watching it along the way but maybe DS9 would be more my thing if it's more character driven. Who knows, might find it online sometime when I have some spare time kicking about.
