Now, you all might be curious - there are many, many versions of Rainbow L.J out ther but what version did I use for the askblog? Well, it's simple:

Rainbow Laughing Jack's 'Backstory' for this Blog

Everything that has happened to L.J canonnically is also canon in this askblog - but with a tiny difference.

During L.J's Monochrome period, he had always felt... Incomplete. Sure, he was Always laughing; but his laughter was never meant, a hollow echo of his previous, oh so happy laughter that gave him his well-known title. yes, he had changed to suit Isaac's interests; bu this wasn't who he was, who he was supposed to be.
After years and years of slaughtering and killing, his empty feeing had only gotten stronger, tearing him apart on the inside. It began to destroy him, break him apart bit by bit. Compare it to an imaginary friend being completely forgotten; he began to fade away, to leave this world due to the lack of attention, the lack of love and care he desperatly needed to survive.

But how could he stop this? How could he save himelf from non-existance? Surprisingly enough, he got the answer sooner than he expected. And in a way he could have never foreseen!

It was so simple: an unknown child he had abducted had shown him mercy; kindness, even. Forgiveness, kind words of understanding, and a smile that was truly meant before his guts spilled over the floor. And even in death, the child seemed at peace - as if it had agreed to being killed like this, and had already forgiven his killer.

These actions, these words and smiles despite what he was putting the child through, changed something in him. Showed him there was another side to life once again.
He didn't understand it! It confused, and even frightened him.

Love was an unknown concept - but, oddly enough, it was exactly what he needed. It was what made him feel complete - what he was made for and needed to keep on existing. The odd pain, the disgusting feeling of emptiness that had been plaguing him mind for centuries was beginning to fade again, too - leaving him feel... Better, in some unknown way. And after all those years, after all those centuries of being broken inside, all those times his laughter was so hollow and unmeant:
He laughed.
He laughed and laugehd and laughed, seemingly with no end.
And he meant it.

Wanting more of this, of this feeling of completion, he began to abduct more children, but instead of murdeirng them, he treated them well - serving as an excellent companion that sometimes... acted a bit odd, but had no real intent of hurting them. Their care towards him, their trust and joy fueled him, made him feel like new. And bit by bit, it began to restore what had been broken; his colours faded back, his attitude changed to suit this new self again.
And before he knew it, the world had a maeaing again! His purpose had returned, and instead of risking his life with every breath he took, he began to live again, to serve his original purpose:

To entertain, to fill the hearts of others with joy and make their day just a little bit brighter every time.

Some trivia about Rainbow Laughing Jack
(Warning: these are headcannons, and are not canon in the real creepypastaverse. Please keep this in mind.)

He is unable to swear. He's build for children after all - and is thus comletely kid-friendly. he doesn't know any swearwords that exceed 'Meanie', 'Bad friend' and 'Rude person' and will immediatly correct somebody that swear to him. He can't help it - it's a build-in response to it that he can't control. The same goes for his Monochrome form.

- He's capable of floating and shapeshifting: However, he rarely uses these abilities due to how draining they are of his powers.

- He needs two kinds of things to fuel himself and his powers: Attention from others, and candy. Candy fuels his powers mostly, and affection fues his sanity. The less attention he recieves, the more hostile and agressive he'll become and the less colourful he'll be.
The less candy he eats, the weaker he will become and the more unstable his magic will be.

- He knows what 'love' is, however he does not know it in the romantic sense. He can't love more than a friend cares about their friends - it's not build in his system when he was made, and thus can't learn what it is either.'
He loves hugs and platonic love, but does not like kises all that much. He will never kiss anybody, or at least not more than a simple cheeck smooch - simply because he isn't 'programmed' to do so.

- He pronounces 'Technology' as 'Technogoly'. He's trying, at least. :'3

He can make Candy appear out of everything. Often choosing either his sleeve or pocket, he will do so from time to time to restock on energy.

His colourful magic may look fancy, but it is highly unstable. Rainbow has a very hard time controlling it, and using it is actually fairl exhausting. It often does not do what he wants it to do.

Mono does NOT exist in this universe - simply because he and Rainbow are the very same person.

Being reminded of either Isaac or his monochrome period triggers an... Quite extreme reaction. You would be surprised by how upset and, occasionally, agressive he can get if you do. It takes a moment for him to calm down again - expect lots of apology hugs and candy to make up again after.

It is essential for Rainbow to receive lots of attention, to keep him from losing his sanity. The monochrome events are still very fresh, and he's still recovering. Whatever you do, it is best to keep him happy - the more upset he gets, the easier he'll relapse into his old behaviour and form.

He's capable of eating other things that candy, luckily - the moment he swallows it, it dissolves and is converted into energy. However, it is not sufficient to actually fuel him and his abilities for a long time. Only candy is capable of doing so.

He can store things up his sleeves if he wants to - it'll be temporarily converted to magic, and will materialise once again when he wishes to get it out again.
__
When he is hurt severely, for instance stabbed or shot, he is forced to return to his box. This often happens with him disappearing in a cloud of colourfulsmoke, which then retracts into his box. It's easily comparable to how Gems are poofed in Steven universe, except he isn't a gem but an imaginary clown, and his box is not a part of his body.

He can't leave his box, not on his own at least. He'll need somebody to crank the handle first, before he is able to escape. It's not uncommon for him to have small panic attacks when stored away in his box, due to past events. His greatest fear is to never be let out again - wich is why he'd go great lengths to avoid having to enter it.

He has his own pocket dimension: a tiny side dimension only he can access. He's able to take people with him to it and out of it again, but without his help, the guests are trapped for the time being. The dimension looks like a Carnival - and it's appearance shifts depending on Rainbow's mental stability. The angrier or more upset he is, the more broken, old and creepy it'll look. In monochrome form, the Carnival is often littered with corpses.

Rainbow has some... Less great tendicies - his old ways are not entirely gone. Often, when he has befriended someone, he'll offer then to come and stay in his carnival. Once you're there, sure, things may seem great - Rainbow will give you all his love and will do his best to please you. And you'll never be lonely - tons of other children are present as well, who have all fallen victim to him.
To put it in simpler words:
Once you're in, you're not getting out.
Never.

His box is stored in the side dimension as well - he often asks the 'residents' or said dimension to keep an eye on it in return for candy. When he's killed, a random child will often turn the crank to release him.

There are two ways to kill Rainbow: You either need to destroy his box, or take away all the love he receives for as long as possible. Breaking the box is the easiest - but it comes with a price. Everything he has ever done will disappear - and thus, whoever is trapped within the carnival (about at least 200 children or so) is bound to perish too.
Giving him no attention will cause his to convert to monochrome form - where he will become a murderous killer machine That's able to thrive for at least 200 years or so without noticing any side-effects.

Now, you all might be curious - there are many, many versions of Rainbow L.J out ther but what version did I use for the askblog? Well, it's simple:
