Another faving and commenting. I rarely comment, but I just had to save that this is pretty emotional for a "just a small illustration". As much as I like the character (first movie: HUGE impact on me), I also like to poke fun at him, especially since he's very much a dick at some points. So I often forget his childhood and the emotional aspects of it, which you sum up perfectly in just one picture. And it's sad, because the sweet, kindly Ai/Amber"two" and this lovely world around her are being engulfed by this dark, incomprehensible world that is devoid of what he had almost discovered amongst Ambertwo, and alone except for the fleeting images of the mirage pokemon. His expression and pose shows the uncertainty and vulnerability, which is particularly heart wrenching coming from a child, especially one who came from virtually nothing, and grow from nothing.
I probably over analyzed this, but hey, it's good when art makes you think...right?
