What an amazing job you did. Yes! her likeness is spot on and I can imagine how painstaking the celtic detail was to do on her clothing. I'm excited to hear that you are planning a series of tutorials, can't wait. Your work is very inspiring.

fantastic sculpture, you got her likeness spot on. On top of the portrait you have such a subtle expression which is really indicative of Selene as a character. I can only imagine the research that went into figuring out the right expression for the sculpture. But you nailed it, its funny I didn't realize how often she had her mouth slightly opened since all the promotional material shows otherwise. the level of detail that went into the clothing is also awe inspiring. My only question is...when are we getting that tutorial?

Wow, Thank you! yes, I could probably sculpt her from memory at this point lol. after watching those films around 30 times each, I noticed she always seemed to be doing that "pouty" thing all the time which really accentuates her cheekbones and lips. I did my best to try and capture that without making it look strange. Female faces are tougher to sculpt since some of the features may not be as prominent as a male's (think Clint Eastwood or Arnold) although portraits in general are, in my opinion, the hardest thing to sculpt the female ones just seem a little tougher. Also, I'm glad you commented on the clothing as well. It took the longest out of anything on this piece. I had to make sure that all of those little celtic designs make sense and connect and they are screen accurate. A bit of a nightmare but I'm happy with how they turned out

As for the tutorial, I'm planning a series of them. As soon as things slow down a bit, I'm gonna get them up and running. Thank you again.

That's awesome that your doing multiple tutorials I can't imagine someone of your caliber managing to fit a fraction of your knowledge into one tutorial. Between you and Adam Beane I will most likely take up sculpting in wax soon. I hear you about female faces, I am doing three female sculpts for my maquette class and the line between pretty and manly is so fine that it makes me want to scream "fuck it! I am making her old!". But that's all the more reason to sculpt attractive women, its a good kind of life shortening frustration . thanks for the initial reply and I wish you the best in your endeavors.
