Description Bagogga is a massive beast that lives solely in the Underworld. Stomping about on three trunk-like legs, bellowing out a deep throaty call. Its swollen mouth spits forth wispy arms to seize its prey and reel them back into its maw. Those taken are then trapped in its throat pouch, doomed to be digested over the course of years. It strikes fear into the hearts below, despite its odd appearance. It is a nightmarish beast that terrifies children and sends shivers down anyone's spine. It is commonly referred to as the child-eater, for its favorite food. And what might be the most shocking part of it all is that IT DOESN'T EXIST!

Call me bitter but you would not believe how excited I was to see this creature! All the tales! The horrible stories! I was so pumped to see a Bagogga, making it onto the top five things for me to do when I visited the Underworld. It was just below eating a Geode Fruit, but it was up there! And to have no one tell me! Nobody filled me in about it! They just let me ramble on and get all excited for this non-existent creature! "Oh yes, Chlora, I have seen a Bagogga before. Scared the scales right off of me!" "I heard the Bagogga once, Chlora. It stomped through town looking for children to eat. My parents hid me from it, because I was a good imp." And on and on and on! They treated me like a dumb tourist! After all my research and reading, and they act like I know nothing. So I didn't know the Bagogga was just a boogeyman. One slip up! I am only plant, I am not blessed with your all knowing meat brains! It would have been great if they told me, it would have been nice! Nooooooo, they had to pull me along and feed into my fantasy! Get me all excited and riled up! Just tell me its a boogeyman, meant to scare the little ones. A made up beast that supposedly ate naughty boys and girls, taking them away to some bad place. It was just some creature built by the adults to scare them into being good!

They even have some kind of prank they play on the kids. If the child is being particularly bad, the parents will recruit the neighbors to help scare the kid. The adults will be outside and make the sounds of Bagogga stomping around and bellowing. The parents will then tell the child that Bagogga has come for them, and wishes to eat them. To any child, this is terrifying and they beg not to be taken, and the parents will loudly think about it. They will say that it takes bad boys and girls, and that the child was bad so that is why Bagogga wants to eat them. It is essentially a ruse used to make the child promise to be better. At that point, the parent will go out and "argue" with Bagogga, saying that the child promises to be a good one, so they can't have them yet. After that, "Bagogga" will loudly leave and the parents will have a good laugh. Not the way I would raise my kid, but who am I to judge?

But you see, that leads up to reason #1 of "Why Someone Should Have Told Chlora That Bagogga Isn't Real." Because I was walking around Duzak with my guides, when I heard the sounds of a Bagogga. Excitedly I ran off to go find it, leaving my guides behind. I couldn't wait! To finally see one! I dashed through the streets, looking for the source. And then suddenly I came across a home that had a bunch of demons and shades just standing around making noise. And of course, I am all so excited so I start loudly asking about Bagogga and where it is at. Everyone was a bit confused with my appearance, but I figured that it was because I was so excited to see such a terrible beast. I heard someone inside crying about Bagogga so I rushed in to see (clearly not thinking on how a massive monster could fit in a dwelling). Long story short, it turned out the parents of the household were trying to scare their shade daughter who had been acting up. And ignorant Chlora ruined all of that by practically knocking down the door yelling about the non-existent thing. I don't think all was lost though, as I am pretty sure that girl is now terrified of the "Shrieking Plant Monster that Breaks into Houses." But boy did I get in trouble for that, but whose fault is that!? If they had told me I wouldn't have made a whole scene! My guides had to pull me out of that one, explaining that I had come down with the Cavern Crazies. And after that they finally told me the deal about it. That would have been nice to know!

So a lesson to all you out there. If an outsider comes to town asking about the local boogeyman, be kind and tell them that it is fake. Because that outsider might break down your door looking for him when your kid starts screaming.
