Description Known better as "Hydra worms," the Hydra starts its lifecycle by hatching inside the intestinal system of an organism. The young worm starts to absorb nutrients from the host and use it all to produce "head eggs." The amount of eggs made reaches into the thousands, soon killing the host as they steal more and more nutrients. Once the host passes, the next stage occurs. The "head eggs" hatch, spawning large, worm-like organisms that burst from the body of the host. The original Hydra worm incorporates itself into the dead nervous system and puppeteers the body. The head worms have venomous pincers, though the poison is not strong, their sheer numbers is enough to fully envenom prey and overwhelm it. Victims are torn to pieces and consumed to make more eggs. When a head worm is killed, it releases a pheromone that triggers the hatching of an egg. The egg will hatch and a new head worm will grow within minutes. The only way to completely kill a Hydra is by burning it, as any other injuries will most likely spawn more heads.

A hydra can inject living prey with eggs and then release it, continuing the life cycle and ensuring the birth of another Hydra.

---------------

The Hydra is another beast that I like, so I was curious to see what odd combination would make a fitting image. Parasites like tapeworms were what I was going for, but I kinda got lazy and made a bunch of easy-to-make heads. Making some unique, detailed head is hard when you have to draw it over and over.
