"I'm sorry, but did you idiots seriously do what I think you did? After HOW many warnings?! After ALL the stories about that swamp and all the people who go missing in there?! Cripes, every town within this kingdom talks about the swamp that is infested with those weird blood-sucking worms, and how people are deceived and devoured by those nasty things! I mean, have you read all the signs?! I think those should have tipped you off! I know you think it is a shortcut and I know you think there is some grand treasure hidden in there, but surely you know that there are also freaking vampires in there! Ones that specifically try to lure you in with looks and beauty, before sinking their fangs in you! So with ALL that, ALL the tales, stories, warnings, precautions and "BEWARE THE LEECH WOMEN" signs, you decide to saunter into that cesspool and throw yourselves at the first pretty lady you see?! Did you even think for a second?! How many of you morons are going to keep falling for that?! I mean you are walking through a rotting, sweltering land of muck, you think maybe that would be an odd place for a women's bathhouse to be?! You seriously expect to find a club of nymphs in that place, frolicking amongst the skunk cabbage and pond scum? Cripes, you fellas are dense..."

"Well I hope you idiots are happy. Two of your friends are dead and the rest of you look like a bunch of used chew toys. All because you can't think straight in front of a pretty lady, even after everyone in this town warned you about the illusions. Saw some freaking blonde out amongst the frogs and bog juice and just had to dive in for a....huh? Pardon? What do you mean you didn't fall for their tricks? Look at you! You got a whole new set of air holes punched through you, and your leg is nearly chewed off! Ya look like a bunch of rubes to me! What's that? No illusions? No spells? But if they weren't disguised, then why did....oh no....you're one of THOSE..."

Soooooooo you see there was a time I was just sitting around thinking about the usual stupid stuff, when I got thinking about leeches. For some reason, my mind went to some leech lady, complete with the cliché hourglass shape. Of course such a design was pretty dumb and I wasn't all that thrilled about making a female monster that had all the problems many designs of said monsters were plagued with. A human-sized blood-sucking beast, but ya got to give it hips and make it sexy because it's a lady! Gross, I hate it. So obviously I took this awful idea and hucked it in the trash.

HOWEVER, weeks down the road I got nailed with a nasty case of artblock and couldn't draw a darn thing. None of my designs were working and everything was just a mess. Desperate to make anything, I tried to think of something so stupidly easy that I would be able to actually draw it despite my problems. Lo and behold, that dumb design returned and I gave it a shot. Turned out that I could actually pull it off, and so I did wind up drawing it. Am I proud of it? Goodness, no. Such a hacky design and dumb proportions. Why am I posting it? Mostly because I put in this work and it did get me out of an art slump, so I feel I owe it that much. And also it vaguely fits with mermay, so why not? And also because posting failed designs and ideas from time to time is kind of a nice. They all can't be winners, we all make stupid stuff sometimes. Nothing to be ashamed of there, just use it to learn and get better!
