Description The Fishing Weevil feeds primarily on small fish that it catches with its highly modified proboscis. It dangles it into the water and tries to catch the attention of prey with its flailing antenna and bright colors. When fish move in for a bite, it spears it and drags it to the surface. Its barbed claws will sink into the fish's flesh, preventing escape. The Fishing Weevil will then retreat to a safe spot, where it can drain the fluids of its prey.

----------------------------------------------------

Was goofing around with insect designs and other oddities. Looked to make a fishing rod weevil. Not 100% in love with it, but it came out decent. Just another goofy design. May update it some day and make it into something more.

i think it's kinda cute. how big are they, and would they make suitable pets?

and i'm really sorry for not having replied on your latest creations. to be honest, i don't really have an excuse for it.

I kind of imagined them as being about a foot tall, with an extendable proboscis that can reach longer. They could make decent pets, but one would need a good body of water with fish for them to hunt. They do not take well to given meals, as they much prefer to catch it themselves.

And there is no worry on that! You can comment anytime and anywhere you please! Don't feel like you have to leave a comment on everything, as I will not be insulted if you don't. If you wanna leave a comment, go ahead, if you don't, that is fine too!

I see. from this information, i can imagine myself saying the following phrase to one of them:
"You're a strong, independent weevil, Jakob!"
that's probably what i'd call one if i had one for a pet.

i am really happy that you don't see that as something negative. but i kind of feel like its some sort of duty to comment on your creations after having done so with almost each and every one of them since i started watching you. i think it's part of my autistic traits.

Jakob would be a good name for one! It sounds right to my ears.

And once again, it is no worry on the commenting! I am always glad when you do so, but I wouldn't want you to feel like its some duty you have to perform. Do what feels right to you!

i don't really know how i got on that name. glad that you think it's good, though

I'm glad that you think so. I'll try to think about that in the future, but it's still in my system as of yet.
