I'm not overly keen on the new movies-- I adored the book, and two of my favorite actors are in the Hobbit, so I do like them somewhat, but I think that they could have done without the generic action-movie atmosphere and ought to have captured the magic of the original movie trilogy.

I feel like a lot of the extra stuff that they added was a bit unnecessary, especially in the first one, but I did rather like the fight scene in Desolation of Smaug.
