Yes, I was actually thinking this the other day, I have not watched it in ages... Could cheer one up a little, in this horrible winter, right?

yes

I enjoy recognizing so many places I know in this movie, and so many many details ....the train to the suburbs where her father lives and the horribles garden dwarfs , the people in the café...do you remember the toys she finds in the little box hidden in the hole of the wall? the little cyclists ? my father has exaclty the sames from his childhood... so many real, lived things gathered up and lightened in this very special way in this beautiful story

I hope one day we will walk around togther in Paris, that would be nice

The story about your father is very sweet ... and yes, I would love to walk around together in Paris, and I am sure we will someday soon!!
The place I love especially from the movie is the Canal St. Martin because I had a friend in Paris (she now moved away) and she used to live there directly, so I hold very precious memories of my times in Paris from there; and even more so the Quartier Latin, Montmartre, where I stayed during my first to trip in Paris and where I was so much in love (and happy and unhappy) as I am right now...
Hey, but I will come in the nice season!!

sure!! it will be much agreadable under the

the canal Saint martin is so romantic I believe..I like the little harbour very much...a bit exotic someone in the middle of the town
Montmartre is lovely you were lucky to stay there!! each time I went it was so full of tourists...to the point it is unpleasant.. one have to be there very early in the morning I suppose! :-D

did you experienced to walk out at 5 or so in the morning? it is quite another town, almost no cars and you can hear birds..

when I made my studies in Paris I had a room near the Trocadero, and then near the parc des Princes. but I wandered with friends, also visited a few things as a kid with my parents of course...and have many memos from a little every where ...

....among other things , Paris has the special meaning for me to be a meeting and reunion place...

Yes, I love the Canal St. Martin! And yes, I have been actually out in the Quartier Latin and Montmarte in early, early morning without any people there - I like those hours when you feel that even a big city can belong to you!!
I have also very fond memories of the Trocadero, of my then Beloved holding my hand there to guide me with closed eyes from the metro exit to view the Tour Eiffel from there (best view to it, I think! Especially holding the hand of your secret love )................

oh sure !!...... who would really care about the Eiffel tower in such a case ...BTW I have also a special memo about the eiffel tower... not from the trocadero but from the garden beneath the tower.....

from the trocadero it's more some souvenirs of Japanese people asking me to take picture of them standing on the banister with their arms raised above their heads...and then you can be pretty sure that half of the bus will want to do the same

No, I did not call about the Eiffel tower AT ALL in that moment, that is true!
Care to share your special memory? (=The non-japanese one? )
