I was surprised and quite pleased at the amount of attention my Serikornis illustration ended up getting. It reminded me of how much I miss having time for paleoart, and motivated me to dig through some of my old stuff and find a few sketches and paintings that might be worth sharing. Here's a semi-recent Jinfengopteryx based off another painting of a wild junglefowl I did for Nature last year. A pretty quick painting, but I like it.Related content

Images like this definitely is a two-way window towards what could have been the past. To think this creature, this prehistoric dinosaur could one day evolve into the jungle fowl we all take for granted!
