Today I went over to my Aunt's house she lives out in the country and there happens to be quite a few cats that visit her house. This happens to be one of them I think her name is Saity. I saw her laying on the deck and went to pet her. I noticed she had a lot of burrs in her coat so I carefully picked them out. Surprisingly she didn't mind even though clumps of hair came out along with the burrs. She just seemed happy to see them go.Then I noticed...she had a deep infected wound between her ear and cheek. Unfortunately...she's just a stray and my relatives cannot take every stray they find to the vet. I wish I could do something but mom says we have enough cats as it is and we can't afford to take in another to nurse it back to health. I hate seeing such sweet animals have to live like this... she'll probably die.

I am so glad that you at least cleaned her up a little.
In any event, you should call your local animal shelter. They'll pick her up and clean her up. If she's as sweet as she was with you, she'll be adopted easily.

I've got a soft spot for shelter cats (I volunteered at one for two years in high school). I feel like thanking you or something for taking good care of this animal

Ohhh! Oh, poor sweet baby! How can you not help?! And yet, how can you? The dilemma of animal-lovers everywhere... Not enough of us and too many animals needing help. Poor girl, I hope it isn't too painful. Best wishes to her, and to you--bless you for caring, I'm sure she appreciates the burr-pulling.

Just tell them its not yours and you found it they should help it, they should also have an adoption thing at the vets or near it at least...WHO WOULDENT WANT SUTCH AN ADORABLE THING ANY WAY!!

What a beautiful shot, you've really captured her gentleness here. The poor thing, I hope things work out for her, I hate to see animals live like that as well. At least you were able to help her a little bit though.

Is there a shelter around your area that you can take her too? They will be able to take care of her every day and hopefully find her a good home. If she's as gentle as you say she should have a pretty good chance of gettting adopted. I adopt all my animals from shelters. I wish you and her luck.

Cats are incredibly tuff creatures and amazing survivors, i am pretty certain she will survive and I hope she does. The best thing you can do next time your there is clean the wound as best as you can and hope for the best.

That reminds me of many cats around the city areas.
Just because owners that won't take full responsiblity of their animals let it happen.
It reminds me of the cat we took in, because the neighbor 2 blocks down from us didn't keep him in the house. The reason being their neice was allergic to cats. It was winter time(keep in mind 2 years back in Ft Wayne, IN)and they still left the poor cat outside in the cold. We took the cat in and in the spring time tried asking why the neighbors did that. They gave the same reason as beofre, which I think is stupid. I'm allergic to cats, chocolate and penicillan. Because they didn't seem to care about the cat or even look for it, we kept him. I adopted another cat from the SPCA. I find it sad how many animal/pets fall under the "unwanted" catagory....

maggots are actually a GOOD thing -- they eat infected tissue and will help keep the kitty alive and well!

how sad!!! T__T just put her in a box, tape it up and send her my way! ^_^ well...you can't since I have a dog, but I love this picture. Having her eyes closed makes the picture all that more moving!! great job and I hope she survives!
