Description In 2002 Crye Precision was working with the US Army's Natick Labs on a every environment camouflage pattern.  The idea was to have one set of stuff printed in a pattern that works ok in what ever field of operations that you find your troops in.  They made a pattern called Scorpion that they sold to the US Government.  However Scorpion didn't win the test, the Digital pattern called Universal Camouflage Pattern (UCP) was selected for the Army's Army Combat Uniform (ACUs).  Crye not wanting to waste the work already done, they went ahead created a pattern for commercial market that they named Multicam.  It has since been leansed by militaries all over the world and was picked up by the US Army as the Operation Enduring Freedom Camouflage Pattern (OCP) for deployed US troops to Afghanistan when fall out over UCP's failure in Afghanistan hit the senate floor.

This is a scan of licensed commercial uniform top in ACU cut.  It was scanned on a Brothers MFC-650DW.  This is now at the core of a family of enviroment tailored patterns.

It should be noted that this pattern sort of sucks base on the simple fact that it is designed to work ok in every enviroment, not any particular enviroment, and will not excel as well as more tailored camouflage patterns.  But from the budget stand point it is a win, since you can have one set of everything made in this instead of having to have a set of everything made in your dessert pattern, woodland pattern, swamp pattern, jungle pattern and so on.
