Description

One of my favorite folklore tales is that of an ancient Jewish mage who crafts a man of mud and scribed the word of life upon its body. This. along with the philosopher's stone, is said to have brought this fabled creature to life! The golem would do the bidding of the mage and helped protect the town - until it one day didn't LOL

It is said, this creature was put to "sleep," or rather, a deathless slumber by inscribing the word for life, backwards and removing the stone from its body. To this day, there is actually a church - specifically, a bell tower - where this creatures is supposedly supposed to reside in.

Drawn in a Burtonesque style, here is my take on the golem.
One could potentially even argue this is where we got the Frankenstein's monster story from. Fascinating either way.
