Well yeaaah been playing Harvest Moon
My controller was working (till yesterday anyway) and I thought to.. try to GBA versions and ... whaddaya know.. you can marry Won! One of the hidden guys eh? At first..thought well no big deal and then thought..wait which of the guys then? The Doctor is pretty sweet guy but I like Elli a lot as character... Never liked Rick ... Gray seems.. eh donno too quiet and shy for me for some reason.. that leaves.. Cliff? Who pretty much everyone and your grandma loves..
Okey there`s the Kai option but eeeh he is cute but still nothing special. And then something occurred to me. Won ... the poor salesman who no one likes.

WARNING WARNING LONG WALL OF TEXT WARNING WARING

Why no one likes? Simple enough everyone will say he is greedy, he cares only for money, has no romance cut scenes, his heart is "hidden" and top of all only gifts he likes are damn expensive. Some will go to extreme saying he is pervert (for calling you "chicky") or being cold hearted as he only talks *cough* about money .. and right here right now.. *slams hand on the desk* I OBJECT!

First of all he is a merchant..a salesman. Of course he`ll talk about money. As if Rick doesn`t blab about chickens or Cliff doesn`t .. .. well he barely talks to begin with.

Cold hearted? Because he his lines are all short and "okey!" like ? Right..as if Kai doesn`t kinda brush you off and goes off to work as soon as you propose and you accept.

Pervert..!? What the hell that came to your mind? Everyone will say Harvest Moon games are as if made for little kids or something. Everything in these games (or those I`ve played) is all innocent and sweet or joking and never in any pervert way. What`s so bad about being called "Chicky"? Its equal to be called "pile" in Bulgarian and I can tell you a hell lot of people use it. No, he isn`t pervert.. but you probably are for taking that word for something dirty.

He`s gonna sell your kid!? Whoa.. so he says how he wonders how much money your kid will make when she grows up and .. you concluded he wants to sell/use or whatever? Wow.. never occurred to your mind he speaks in a proud fatherly way? Again..he is a merchant..he is proud in what he does, he expects his daughter to become successful as her parents ..thus the comment. Its not so hard to conclude the reason behind that line. Of course something dirty was much easier to conclude eh?

He had no formal clothes for the wedding..!? Oh great job noticing Sherlock.. well now if you could just use some more braincells.. he is hidden character.. he is not even supposed to be available for marriage if you ask me. His sprite motions are limited so are his events. He doesn`t appear in formal clothes nor leans to kiss you in the church like the regular guys will do simply cause he most likely wasn`t meant to. He is that extra people threw in but didn`t put much work making him as special as the rest (like the rest of the hidden guys eh?) So why we make big deal of his lack of formal clothes again?

Greedy! Oh yes he is.. and you know what? He is not as greedy as your main character. Just think about it.. Aren`t you running all day around the farm harvesting crops, getting milk, eggs, honey, apples, fish anything you can throw in the bin for quick money? Aren`t you running around with gifts to every towns person so you get secret recipes, scenes, get in their locked rooms and so on...
When you look at it that way.. your main character isn`t all THAT generous and kind .. and not to mention she is the one who shows the least affection.

Whew.. with all that said.. Won`s gotta be my choice in game. The guy needs more love.

How wonderful!
First FanArt that I think of the Won and Claire, I always liked Cliff with Claire, but particularly love her double form with Won. It without that hat and mustache that I think is very similar to Jin from the other HM.

Won is not ugly, just the kind of hat and his glasses are.

Excellent objection. Many people don't realize those things about Won. I've always liked him, except he can be a little bit irreverent. But he's my second choice when it comes to marriage in the game. He surely is more enchanting than that emo Gray and that rather-undecent Kai I hold no hate against any character though.

Hell, if I wasn't too busy stalking Rick, I'd be following Won everywhere. You see, I recently started playing More Friends of Mineral Town, and once I finish the game with Rick, I wanna restart and marry Won The fact that he's a "hidden" barchelor and that you need more effort to get him, makes the whole thing more enchanting.

Well, about this picture: this is goddamn adorable. For some reason the cold colours add a more romantic air... Won looks PAINFULLY cute and I want to eat him.

Yes.. poor Won.. people criticize him too much! Seriously he isn`t as bad as people make him out to be! Of course I loved all the characters in Mineral town and my first choice was the Doctor .. I have a thing for non romantic guys I guess haha.. but when I found out Won is secret bachelor.. oh, heck yah! XD

I was just going to play it, cause there aren't many romance anime games you can play in english (if we count Yo-Jin-Bo, Ever17 and Animamundi), well "Harvest moon" isn't all about romance, but it's Ok for me

I heard a lot about Harvest moon, so it was really interesting for me to read your objections.

There are so many harvest moon games.. usually the characters are similar (if not the same). I`ve played the PSX version and 2 for Game Boy Advance.
I kinda like it exactly cause its not some pure romance..XD I have great fun in doing all that farm work and expanding the house and all that stuff.. and the character art is usually so cute TT;
