This piece is lovely. You show great sense of depth of space with the path. The highlights of light are great, on the hair and the cloak. The detail touches from the brushes add a nice amount of eye candy. Very nice.

Well, finally got around to comment on the pic.

What can I say - It wouldn't be exaggerated to say this is probably your best one up to date. You've drawn Jima He with a lot more realism then your usual art has (not like that's bad or anything), and this makes the pic look a lot more...well, serious then usual. His clothes really seem good, the designs on the sleeves are great (Gotta download some of those brushes), but what really caught my eye was his hair. The way it lightens up to almost white near the edges is really effective.

The background is great as well, almost makes me wonna go visit Naphriel *mumble*...damned war....The strings and floating lights make it feel mystical and fantastic, and so do the flowers.

The pose he's in looks both dynamic and calm at the same time too..

Just like I said - You've outdone yourself in every aspect with this...Which is just another reason to try and make the next one even better!

Oh mi! Oh mi! I think I just paused only long enough for the full view to load, then I just jumped on the fav button! O_O

This is so so so very gorgeous. I love the forest, its calm mistiness and how the faint little flowers draw out the incredibly beautiful delicate-ness of the motifs on his clothes. And I love his hair - how its darker and more outlined up at the top but as it falls lower the lines fade away and it almost seem to glow. The lack of dark outlines and the bright shine there make him blend in with his surroundings. And its not just how prettily you've painted this. You seem to put such amazing moods and actual feelings in your paintings.

Its incredible how you can make such amazing stuff in just 7 hours! *shoots self*

And since he's a tactician me love him even more!

The bit about Jima He being a fallen star and him being partially based upon Zhuge Liang kind of reminds me of a scene from Dynasty Warriors, when Sima Yi declares quite gleefully that 'Zhuge Liang's star has fallen'.

Gah! *flails* I don't even know where to start. ><

Even the hair makes him look magical. All wavy and color-changy and such. Like it's just floating there really.
And his face looks so perfect too...gorgeous eyes and still very much in control of his expression...like he's allowing himself to smile since he's by himself.

The lighting too...is just amazing. Like the spots where it hits on the feathers and shading on his robes and the general glow about the place.

Speaking of the robes - omg all the detail - and not just the patterns and such...though the way you did the texture is amazing. But just the several layers and the tassels and the way the inner one bunches at the bottom and the gold piece in front and yeah. Seriously, you are like the most amazing fantasy costume designer I know. XP

and then the BACKGROUND.

I love love love the way you draw trees. It's somehow simple but still captures the shading and feel of them all while still fitting with the style of the drawing that's not overly detailed but not simplistic either. And such a good job of making them fade off into the background. Really like the forest is this vast area...but not gloomy at all. All the light and glowyness and <3<3<3

As good as you have always been, this one really blows me away. You continue and continue to amaze me, and you continue to get better and better every time you do something. This is just beautiful. The colors are rich and gorgeous. I love the sort of serene expression on Jima He's face. And most of all, the detail work on the outer robe, inner robe, and book are completely astounding. I am just so impressed I can't even really express it!

I really like the way he looks opposed to the background - I mean, he fits with it, he's not too big or too small for the trees but the right size.
