Description Our hero has been on a journey for almost a year now. A year full of dangerous but exciting happenings. After he entered the Crystal City he found the potion he was looking for. An ancient potion to heal his mother. She has been sick since she gave birth of his little brother, three years ago. And now she can be finally healed...

"I can't wait to see my parents and my brother again! And the priest, o yes. I realy need to thank him. Oh and my cousins, and the neighbours. It has been such a long time..."

Very unique. You think this would be one of those abstract peices, but when you actually look deeper at it, you're drawn into it, into something that's more than simply an abstract 3d explosion. The ship, the water, the way the peice flows together... amazing. I love it.

i really like this piece, but i think its overall composition needs some work. there are elements in there that arent interacting with each other as fluidly as i'd like, and its hard to put my finger on exactly what.

color scheme is brilliant though, love the pastel limelight, nice touch!

Exhale-NL In reply to ekud [2005-02-11 10:40:51 +0000 UTC]

thanks for the comment. Maybe it's because of the strange background, or the mix between the background and the renders, i don't know...

I see something like sketch drawings there, is that right? Love the lighting. THe simplicity seems to be the most powerful element here, and the details can further enhance the experience one will enjoy in this "journey" described inside. Beautiful and soft, I adore this!

The Comments
---------------------------------------
this is a spectacular piece of eyecandy!

The Criticism
---------------------------------------
I think there is not enough of the true structure of the render seen.

OVERALL
---------------------------------------
Overall the colors, and lighting are amazing, the concept is just good, and the focal point is clearly visible. The extra piece of detail for example , the bubbles, and the ship are good features, but in all fairness i think the ship is posinted in the wrong place.

so does is deserve a fav?
---------------------------------------- -----------
Yes.

Exhale-NL In reply to Rilen [2004-12-22 07:22:35 +0000 UTC]

I don't agree with that I didn't place the ship right, because I saw the light source in the render as a kind of gate to the city. The boat just got through it and is now heading for his home... Maybe you can agree with it now?

Anyways, thanks alot for the comment. It's much appreciated, maybe even more than the fav (wich you forgot btw )

katya-h [2004-12-20 23:04:52 +0000 UTC]

I LOVE the mark-making you have on this piece. The quality of lights and darks is fantastic, and the compositon wonderful. I'm not quite sure if the "bubbles" near the ship suit the piece well enough, maybe you should have made them a little more rough like the weird abstract/ruins/machinery you have going on. I adore this piece though!! It speaks so much within the context of the story you provide.

Exhale-NL In reply to katya-h [2004-12-21 07:55:24 +0000 UTC]

thanks alot. About those bubbles: I had to make something around the ship and i thought that these fitted quite well... I didn't make them bigger because that would ruin the relative size of the boat.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

katya-h In reply to Exhale-NL [2004-12-21 19:58:12 +0000 UTC]

Hm, not bigger, but just a little looser perhaps. Eh. The whole thing is ridiculously beautiful anyway!

i think you should make a collage of all the pieces in the series, so that we can see the whole story from a single viewpoint

I like it! I do agree with Mousyman, this one seems very different from your other Chronicle works of art. Don't really know why. I still like it though. And you did a very nice job with the boat and evoking the idea of motion. Nice job!
