Description

The tree marten is attached to the wall!

It was a fun project to make some kind of armor. There's a chain hanging from the front plate and the other piece of chain is wrapped around the back right paw. Almost as if the animal has escaped.

The lower lip has some damage, because a car run over her head. Personally I like it, the black spots gives the feeling of battle scars.

The wings are from a common moorhen. Both the marten and moorhen were found as roadkill. I collected the brench myself as driftwood.

How do you have the time to do these things? (and the guts? Blegh)

Well, I have limited time due to collage and other stuff I have to do. So I can be a quite busy with these kind of things.

To be honest, I don't it's such nasty work. People think more of it than it is. If you skin the animals most of the time there's almost no blood and the organs stay together in the hump of meat. If you want to clean the bones it can be a bit more dirty though.

probs the nastiest thing i have ever done with bones is eat the marrow.

But isn't it cool to just find out the inner workings of animals?

That's nasty.

And yeah it is! I study biology, so the interest is definitely present. Besides knowing from college how everything in an animal body works, one can tell a lot about a single animal and even how it lives just from looking at the fur, muscle and bone structures.
