Hey, I did one.This is the sketch that ~Ragnarus-san requested, Vincent from Final Fantasy 7...kind of ironic that they'd call it Final Fantasy when they've already got at least twelve versions of the game...oh well...you can't complain really. Kick awesome character designs. w00t. I drew a guy.
Let me know if you guys think it's too dark, I can filter it and fix that up... I know things change drastically from LCD to CRT monitors...
Could be better in parts. But this is a sketch. Sorry.

REALLY love the highlights on the right side of his face and how it falls on his shoulder... really nice. And his face shape in general is very finely sculpted. Love how piercing his eyes are, too.
... but I think his hair is overly wooshy. :3 Like if his hair behind him is thrown back so much, his bangs should be more at an angle.

Cool...yeah...if there's one thing I wanted to do right with the character, it was his eyes...everything else seemed pretty much up to your own interperetation, because the designs of him from the original game are much different than things now...
Yeah? Have you seen his hair? I probably exagerrated, but it's got a little bit of swoosh to it...more jaggedy though.

Eyes can be so piercing when done right, these eyes are piercing, therefore done right. :3 Has he really changed so much?

Awesome depiction of Vincent. I really like the rim lighting; it adds a really cool effect.
I think the darkness is appropriate in this case. Have you tried calibrating your monitor to avoid problems like that?
Fun fact, the reason the game was titled final fantasy was that the first was suppose to be the last game of the designers career. But when it took off, he decided to make more.

You know, there are monitor calibration programs, and I've gone through the calibration process, although I haven't tried printing and comparing, but when it tells me to turn my brightness to 100% and then match the darkest possible grey without going black, I can't get the grey to come anywhere close...something weird. So I've got the brightness down and the contrast up and all sorts of things. LCDs are just brighter than CRTs by nature though I think...

great job with the bluish secondary light source. i always get it too bright or fake looking, but this looks really organic and convincing.

Oh hey! I appreciate the comment loads! The secondary light sources/reflected light is always something I enjoy if done well, so I messed around with the color a bit, I'm glad I got it right! Much thanks!

Yeah? Ehhh...I think I built up from a completely black background...looking at it now on this darker CRT monitor, I definitely see I couldn't had more light on the face, rather than just on the cheek structure. Thank you for the critique! Much appreciated.
