Oh I know! I was so mad! They're using the same guy (Alec Jones) for the next 3 movies, so I hope he'll get more screen time.

Oh, that's great. He looks so teenager'ish! Can you tell me what media you use? It might sound a bit odd, but I always like to read about that in the artist's comments. For example, whether it's all paint and ink, or whether it was partially done and then transferred to Photoshop for further work. You have such fabulous use of colour and texture and I have no idea how you generate the effects.

I agree with you - I like to read the used media, too, but now I forgot to mention it! (I will edit it now). I used pencils, a kind of transparent-white pen (it is because I don't have very dark pencil, but I found out that if I use this on the pencil lines, it transforms them very dark... oh yes, I know it is really time to go and buy dark pencils....) And at the end I put a layer behind in PS, because I did not like the original lame background This way: I duplicate the original drawing, and I use the special eraser on the duplication, I erase all the white surfaces with one click, only the lineart remains, so I can insert an image between. Now a painted texture jpg. I use the normal eraser on this texture layer "under" the lineart, so the texture will appear only around the figure. I am not sure if I could tell it right... I use Hungarian PS, so I am not really familiar with the right English expressions, plus I have learnt PS myself, just experimenting around

Oh cool! That makes sense. Thank you very much for the info.
I like your technique with the white pen and darkening the pencil lines. Sounds good because dark pencil (6B) lines often go fuzzy and smudgy.
I've just got a copy of PS and hope to start learning how it works this summer. Saving up for a Wacom!

I love the atmosphere, the general look. It's a great depiction of Snape. There's something in the look in his eyes.
