The magnificent Depeche Mode concert yesterday brought back my Muse, I have a rush of new ideas after weeks of silence! Fortunatelly I am on holiday, so I can paint all day if I wish.I love them
Listening to their lyrics I could not help myself thinking of Snape.
This particular painting was inspired by their song Precious.
"..we always try to share /The tenderest of care /Now look what we have put You through.../Things get damaged/Things get broken...
...I am still totally overwhelmed with the concert!
It was raining, but we all danced and sang and enjoy their performance.

Nice work with the hands; I like the background design with Draco. I like the sort of watercolor wash on Narcissa's face, it looks as if she's been crying.

Hmm, interesting point. I can see how he should have some scars. And I wouldn't be surprised to see the nails bitten to the quick, in his younger years. Not as an adult, though . . . too guarded for that tell - tale sign

I think the stress manifested itself in his later life in his thinness; like he was being consumed from within. Snape actually enjoying food - I can't see it, for some reason. But that's just me

This is gorgeous. This is my favorite chapter of all the books, and not enough people pain this scene.
I love the phantom of Draco in the background. Your Snape is fantastic, as always, and I'm always interested in seeing people's depictions of Narcissa. She is wonderful here.

Thank you, dearest! THis is a chapter I have examined a couple of times to understand what could have happened. I am glad for the tiny, not that significant details, too... I loved to see HIM in his living room, ordering wine, being polite and calm with the Black sisters (each too complicated and hard to handle...)
