Contest entry for the UKoE monthly art contests.

Although I don't reside in the UK, I have relatives in England and Wales. I've been researching about the history of Britain recently and incorporated some of my limited knowledge into the work.

I decided to use a pub setting, since from my observations pub meets were quite popular for UK bronies. Personally my favourite style of pubs are Irish pubs, and I just had to have Applejack as the barmare. I was also incredibly tempted to place a pot of gold at the end of Rainbow Dash's tail, but I thought that would make the joke too obvious.

I think my most favourite inclusion was Rarity sporting a French- Scottish ensemble which alludes to the strong ties between the two nations and their roles in the Scottish Wars of Independence. A lot of Rarity's creations derive from French styles, so I thought this outfit would be appropriate. In addition she's the only unicorn in the mane six (after Princess Twilights coronation), and the unicorn represents Scotland on the Royal coat of arms. I also think that Spike and Rarity made a cute couple, so I had Spike play the bagpipes since he's the only one with hands to play them.

Speaking of Spike, I had him be the target of Fluttershy, who is cosplaying/dressing up as St. George the patron saint of England. St George and the Dragon was one of the first things that popped to mind when thinking about England. Wales was tricky though, since I couldn't think of much to use. In the end I had Pinkie Pie wear some traditional Welsh clothes (i'm sure she'd find the hat amusing), and since she's an avid baker I had her with a platter of Welsh cakes. Yum!

Another clever addition I thought was having Twilight wear Equestrian attire. I just found it incredibly amusing an ironic for a pony to wear a riding outfit, and also it was very English I thought.

I was a bit rushed to get this done and I would have liked more time to include more ponies. I've added in some cameo appearances of some UKoE staff here as well as my own OC Brohorn who is a Viking Pony. Norse Vikings, Danish Vikings (Anglo Saxons), and Normans have had an immense impact on the history of the British Isles so I thought it would be apt to include him with an ahistorical helmet.

I actually really wanted to add everypone's Grace Darling, but unfortunately I couldn't due to time constraints.
