Description
The photo reference for this drawing (along with the ref for the Gift 1 mantis) was taken by me! My mom was watering a dying plant in a pot a while back when she saw the soil moving. There were wild baby rabbits burrowing there, and a day or so later in the evening I got to see two of them sitting on top of the soil! They were doing an amazing job staying still and not attracting attention from predators while they waited for their mother to come back; exactly what they were supposed to do. I felt bad though, because when I pulled my phone out to take pictures, the flash was on and it made them flinch! DX
Fyi: I did not physically disturb them, as this could have hurt them somehow (from fright/panic/germs) or made their mother abandon them. But not too long after this encounter, I sadly had to bury a bunny of similar age that one of my dogs got. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t one of these two, as it had a distinctive small white streak on its head (smaller than the mark on the top bunny in my drawing). At least I got to pet and hold it before the burial... young rabbits are incredibly soft.
This card is going to my widowed step-grandmother.
