Description “Huff…wheeze…pant” “I’m back! I need to find them, the sooner the better. I need to find him!” A brown and beige mammalian creature walked into a small village, tired from a long trek. “Keith, where are you?” it began searching, and when it came to a specific house, it collapsed on the porch, fast asleep…

Yawn… “Good morning, Jo…” Keith, a thirteen-year-old, sighed, remembering that his younger brother had been missing for days. “Joey, where could you be? I can’t have a happy birthday without you.” There was a knock on his door, his mother. “Happy birthday, sweetie!” “Good morning, mom. Did you sleep well?” Keith was a polite person by nature. “Get dressed, and we can go pick out your Pokémon!” Keith had meant to pick up a Pokémon for years, but something always came up. “No, thanks, we need to find Joey first, and then we can worry about my first Pokémon.” “Sigh… We’ll find joey first, okay then.” She said this knowing the answer even before she asked. After Keith got dressed, ate breakfast, and stretched, he walked outside, only to find an eevee on the porch, sleeping soundly. “Hey, what are you doing here, little fellow. Do you have a trainer?” its eyes immediately blinked open, revealing startling green eyes. Most eevee had deep brown eyes, not green. “Joey has green eyes just like those, little fellow.” It sprang up into Keith’s arms, surprising him. “Joey’s favorite Pokémon was eevee, too.” He started crying as he said it. “Joey…” he started bawling, even though he knew it was embarrassing, while the eevee nestled into his arms, comforting him. “Eevee! Eeev…” “Have you seen my brother, little fellow?” He wiped a tear from his eye while hugging the eevee tight. The eevee tried to comfort him, nuzzling and licking him. “Vee.” It said, and to make him feel better by tickling his ear. “Joey did that when I was feeling bad, too…” he thought for a moment, pondering something. “Could you be joey?” The eevee nodded and smiled.

“What happened to you, Joey?” he replied with an “Eevee, vee,” as if this explained everything. “I can’t understand you, Joey. I’m sorry.” Joey looked disappointed, but understanding. Joey urged Keith to follow him, leading him into the forest. “Should I get mom and dad?” Joey shook his head. “Alright, let’s get moving.” After a long trek into the woods, Joey led Keith into the heart of the forest, an old shrine made of stone with a glowing orb at the center. “Eevee!” Joey gestured to the orb. “Do you want me to touch it?” “Yes, he does, Keith. Touch it, and realize your true potential.” A feminine voice spoke in Keith’s head. “Trust me; you want to be a trainer, don’t you.” “Alright, I’ll touch the orb thing. Just bring my brother back.” He walked up and put his hands on the orb. Electricity surged through his entire body and his head began to buzz. “Oh…what’s…happening…?”
