I'm an earth sciences major and I can only hope to be in such a location at some point in my life, that's absolutely amazing! I love the coastline, I've only been able to see it in pictures like yours. Great shot!

awesome shot! the smoke rising in the distance has so much effect and really drawn the eye into the shot. very nice capture of the waves smashing too

I have a question....how do you "single Raw double processed and blended back in" on your recent shot 4 in the morning?

Haha. That's the the time that I finished editing :-P
I was referring to taking one raw...processing it for the sky, then duplicating and processing for the foreground...then digital blending back together. Like a digital GND. Many ways to do this and I find it invaluable in my photographs. Before and after would blow your mind. All part of the toolbox. Email if you want a jpg tutorial or google "digital gnd".
Hope that helps

Haha, indeed a risky shot! You must have set your tripod pretty close to the water. In the end a stunning photo!

It is very difficult let alone very dangerous being up close like this...I will say I am blessed to be alive. No one is allowed out past the viewing area but there are those that go and dont know how dangerous it can be. If the also get caught, they can be arrested and the residents can also sue for trespassing. Seen it done already.
Have a good one. Let me know if you do come.
