Lego committed suicide on part of itself when it decided to end Bionicle, let alone replace it with HF. The ONLY redeeming factor about Hero Factory are the parts themselves, which can be used in some impressive custom works. As for the storyline or models as they are? F*** em.

100% agree. It sux that Bionicle had to end, but the story had concluded, and there wasn't much left to add to it now that all the makuta forces were defeated. I'd have loved if they continued it in someway, but there wasn't much to do.

I'd have taken releases of bionicle products (with updated parts) over hero factory personally

Just because the Makuta were defeated doesn't mean some other kind of evil comes out. Farshtey (not sure if people are familiar with him, but he wrote the comics and books on Bionicle) could probably pull another storyline out pretty easily. Even then if they didn't make any more story, they could release sets of the characters that were only talked about in the stories.

That's very true. I'm sure some new storyline and goal will be made eventually with Bionicle and then it will be re-released in all it's glory. A story continuation definitely needs to be done properly though, and definitely shouldn't be released too quickly.

As for future sets, i hope they retain the bionicle-esque look that has been built rather than use Hero Factory's designs for a jump off

Completely agree with that. I especially agree with the fact that Lego shouldn't use the Hero Factory designs for Bionicle. However, I think Hero Factory got a one-up on Bionicle for one thing; Speeda Demon. I don't think Bionicle ever had any four-armed motorcycle riders. XD

I'd be surprised if the bionicle line ever got 4-armed motorcycle guys riding around. Hero factory definitely used bionicle designs as a jump off.

The pistons are just there to add to the menacing look, though due to how the Hero Factory bone piece is setup with the rest of the leg it does make the legs more stable then they would without, so they're not JUST for aesthetics
